The key is bigger glasses I drink from no less than a 24 oz glass. I Don't know but for ME it seems more appealing to drink 3 of those a day as opposed to...8 8oz....and I don't chug either. I 'Strive' for 96 oz a day...somedays I don't make it though. |

I drink about 32 oz a day, thats 2 bottles of water which equals 4, 8 oz glasses a day. I highly doubt I could drink much more water than that! I do know you get water from food too, but probably not a lot. |

There's a nice mathematical method to how much water one needs. At a minimum it's suppose to be 64oz....but really take your weight and divide by two. That's how many is ideal. |

Water, coffee, soda and other beverages count you know. The human body needs between 6-10 8ozs of fluid depending on size and conditions. Like people in the dessert need more than lets say a person in an AC building. |

Just get big water bottles and carry it around with you EVERYWHERE, it really helps, cause you end up drinking a lot of it when your bored and stuff. |

I try, but I usually don't make it past 40 oz of water in a day. I think I've had all of 8 oz of water today. Generally speaking, I don't drinkg 64 ounces of ANYTHING in a day. Maybe thats why my lips are dry right now! lol. |

Py's right. But it does take a very large amount (though it varies) of water in a short amount of time. Example is one woman in a radio contest (2007?) died from water intoxication....but she drank about 2 gallons in a short period of time. Too much, too fast...throws the body off, electrolytes and such... |

I fill a 2litre cordial bottle of water and leave it on the kitchen sink each day....I strive to drink that daily, most times I do but there are days I don't. I know that I do drink enough plain water daily. I have about 3 cups of tea as well daily...I believe that water is more important to our bodies than say drinking tea, coffee, soda all day, we still need water.. |

I have never really thought of measuring how much that I drink a day but I do know that it is ALOT. I have something to drink by myside all of the time. I don't really like plain water so I always put lemon juice in it and yes I do go through ALOT of lemon juice too............ |

First of all i barely drink water, i just don't trust tap water around here, and second of all there is a such a thing as drinking to much all together, it can wash your eletrilites(nutrients)all out of your systems, as well any medications you may be taking for any prolonged medical conditions. |

you dont need to drink 8 glasses of water a day. you get much of the needed water from the food you eat. so whatever amount you do drink is fine. |

It's been studied that we already get a majority of the water that we need from the other things we drink and eat so I drink water when I'm thirsty. I don't push it and try to drink that much in a day. |

I dont drink any usually, but dont forget that the other liquids that you are taking in count towards that amount. So you really dont need to drink an additional 8 glasses of water per day. Liquids are milk, juices, soda, soup, popcicles, or anything like that. |

Reader's Digest had an article about that some years ago. They said in addition to the 8-8oz glasses of water you normally should drink, you should drink an additional glass of water for every 20 lbs. of weight you want to lose. In other words, if you want to lose 40 lbs of weight, drink 10-8oz. glasses of water a day. At first, you will go to the bathroom alot, but your bladder will adjust after a week or two. After that you don't go to the bathroom so often, but when you do, it takes a long time to empty. My mom lost over 60 lbs in about 18 months doing this. Some people squeeze a little lemon juice in the water, and some people just drink it cold. You'll find after drinking this, you don't have much of a taste for anything else...no more sodas or tea. It's really a good thing to do for weight loss and it doesn't cost as much as Jenny Craig or Nutri System. |
