I wouldn't do it by mail... my mom took a few old chains, orphaned earrings and warped rings into a jeweler and got quite a bit of money from it. I can't remember the exact total, but I want to say it was at least a couple hundred dollars. |

ROFLMAO PJ!!!!!! I've seen the commercials you're talking about, I don't know who would be stupid enough to send their jewelry to someone via the mail. I don't care if they say it's safe and insured, still sounds like a dumb idea to me! |

That's just like sending cash through the mail, instead of a check. There is no proof it was sent. |

take it to a pawn shop or a gold shop many places will offer you cash on the spot for gold by weight |

Haven't done it..but they will only give you pennies on the dollar..You'd probably make more money selling it on Ebay |

It doesn't seem trustworthy, better off with a pawn shop, and haggle because the price of gold is up. |

I don't think many people would have gold jewelry, etc just laying around and would want to get rid of it. Anything that I own means a lot to me. It came from someone special and I would NEVER want to get rid of it. I was just thinking how this offer could be helful to thieves. All they would have to do is to steal the gold and stuff it into an envelope. It would probably be harder to catch a thief this way. |
