Fearless Freep is missing! Katlillie >^..^<

the web

Ok so I have this spider in my backyard, on the deck.  She's been out there for a while, huge massive web all in between our house and the house next door.

I named her Fearless Freep.  I have been watching her (through the windows of course, I am not crazy) and my husband took the pictures, but we are both afraid to kill her so we aren't doing anything about it.  Plus she is eating plenty of bugs, and it is too hot to go out there right now.

Anyway, she is usually gone from the web in the mornings, I guess she has meetings or something.  But just now, when I was cooking dinner, I looked out the kitchen window and she is GONE from the web.   There is no way I'm going outside to look for her.  Now I will wonder and be a little paranoid that she has found a way in the house and will eat my eyeballs while I am asleep.

the web

How it changed my life:

Now we gotta do something about her....if she comes back! Urk, grchksss, bleahhhhh!!

Katlillie that's the biggest web I ever seen for such a small spider. She must think there are a lot of juicy bugs around.I don't think she will be looking to eat your eye ball. That will come later when she has eaten all the bugs. LOL!!! Good luck. >>HUGS>>
Date: 8/11/2008 5:58:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62618    She is as big as my hand, it's hard to tell by those pictures. The web is humongous!
Date: 8/11/2008 6:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Dig the name, Feerless Freep! Hey there, Katlillie. As far as I know, those spiders are not poisonous. I've run into countless of their webs in the dark. Aside from freaking me out when they crawl on my face and neck, they are pretty much harmless. I've always called em "Banana spiders." Thanks for sharing the picts, lady. Write on.....
Date: 8/11/2008 7:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    It looks like an Argiope...I've seen them all over Texas....It is a beautiful spider, and is definitely not agressive.
