My husband is a member of the Army Nation Guard, he is currently deployed in Iraq/Kuwait until sometime Dec/Jan. The tri-care prime remote covers almost all of medical, perscriptions at $3 generic, $9name brand. The life, itsenlf? I deplends ion how strong you are. For me, I have good days and bad days, when I cant get out of bed, well, I have to, with two children, 2yr old girl, 10month old boy, but if I could saty in bed, some days I would. It actually gets easier as time goes on, but when they come back on leave for 12days, those next few weeks following are like... hell, is that g-rated? If not, change it to heck. But, you slowly get used to it, and life goes on. Day by day and step by step, you make it. Plus, the internet has alot of perks, web cam, photo sharing, instant messaging, those all keep you close with your soldier. Hope I helped any, if you have anymore questions of if you need to talk, Im always around, send me a message, it would be great to talk to you. |

My husband is in the Army National Guard and is also deploying in the Dec/Jan time frame to Iraq. I have an 8 year old son and it is much harder on him than it is on me. My brother is also in the Army National Guard and he just returned from a 15 month tour in Iraq. It's difficult but like Heavenly Poest said - it just depends on how strong you are. |

The benifits can be great, and in times of peace or normal circumstance the duty is relatively easy. However as many have found out the time time may well come when you can be activated and sent overseas. That's how the commitment works, and it's not something you can just change your mind over. You need to go in with your eyes wide open and realize that the words "military service" mean just that. |

No, not me, but someone close to me. My health problems would prevent me from going myself. Thank you everyone for the messages and the replies. I love ya'll. *hugs* |

My brother has been in Iraq several times but I barely ever talk to the man (he's not big at all on corresponding with anyone hardly) so unfortunately I wouldn't know the answers. I could try to ask around though! LOL |

I was born and raised in the Air Force. It's the best for being with your family. I was later married to a Marine and I saw NC and Calif, while he was also in Vietnam and Okinawa. The Air Force is the best. |

But, if this person is a woman with children, I would think twice. That's why my daughter got out after eight years. Things will be pretty stirred up in the middle east for many years to come and kids can't go there. |
