The Sheridan Inn is haunted by the spirit of one Miss Kate Arnold, a housekeeper who lived there for sixty years. The inn opened in 1893 and was once by Buffalo Bill Cody. Miss Kate's presence is most stronglY felt in her former room on the third floor, near the front downstairs window, or in the ballroom. Sometimes she is detected as a moving cold spot; at others only her soft footsteps are heard. The owners have preserved her room just as it was when she left it and interred her ashes in the wall above her favorite chair.Hauck, p.466.
