Amanda , this is extremely upsetting to me and I will miss talking to her every day and YOU and HER and ALEX will be in my thoughts. So please don't feel the blame on yourself just because of Alex. We were all children and one of us could have done the very something and caused anyone else to trip over something. Aww, Amanda, it was NOT Lil Man's fault in any way!!! It was mine for being so clumsy!! Don't feel bad, baby girl, k? I have an appointment this morning at the bone and joint center to see where I go from here. I dread it so much, the pain is just unbearable at times and certain ways I turn my body. AGAIN I have to go through this when so many in my family need me to be there for them. But I don't have time for a pity party, I just will have to get through this so I can be there for those I love. I will let you guys know as soon as I can. Love and Huggggs....  |

Here is my update. After many x-ray's and tests, I got about 15 shots all around my shoulder (to lubricate the cuff). Just to be totally honest here, the doctor wasn't too keen on any sort of surgery especially where the broken bones are located. For one thing he would have to cut clear through muscle to get to them which would leave me in worse shape (AGE). For another, if he 'tunneled' to fix the bones, it could render what is left of the mobility in my right arm useless. I have full range of mobility from my elbow down. I can put my hands on a keyboard and do pretty good, but it hurts right now if I move the wrong way. The doc and I agreed to give it 3 weeks, 4 days of resting it, with absolutely NO sideways movement and come back in 3 weeks to see how it is doing. After my 4 day rest period is over I have to use a pulley to bring my arm up and down, still NO sideways movements or exercises. After talking with him yesterday I DO NOT WANT surgery of any kind. If I were 25 years old, it would be a different prognosis, but since I am older, I won't heal well, if at all. So NO SURGERY for me!!! He has me too scared to even think that route, lol. He told me he was glad I hadn't lost my sense of humor since I was still able to call him my pet name which I won't say on here, it goes back to the very first visit to him after my replacement, lol. So now, I will just take it easy through the weekend, and then exercise like crazy on my Pulley to make sure I am better when I go back. Thank You all so much for your thoughts and Prayers, it means a lot to me (and to my arm). Although it is a little hard for me to type, I can use my hands and lower arm, so at least I am not completely cut off from all of you!!!  |
