P.S. By negative, I mean a negative feeling as it's happening. |

well, honestly, i don't think sleep paralysis could be positive just cuz you feel paralyzed and freaked out. especially since one is caught between being awake and asleep, i don't think sleep paralysis could be anything but negative. |

When I had this happen I prayed hard and sought my strength in my higher power. It subsided. I would not sleep on my back after that but am now doing so because of health problems. I have to have my husband where I can be right up against him when I sleep on my back. Sounds silly but it seems to soothe me. |

Oh I guess I didn't answer your question...sorry I think we feel more vulnerable when these night visitors come because they play with our minds. |

I have concluded SP is a way of the mind keeping the body, still, until the mind is ready to let go of the body. I find SP relaxing. It's not being let go until you are ready--like a cocoon into a butterfly. If you find them scary then it's your mind not letting go until you understand or feel an understanding for dangers in life. That means you should be generally more aware in life with your senses and not expect specific answers to your fears but rather let your instincts guide and protect you. During SP you should relax and listen to your mind. You should find answers there as to why your mind is not letting you go. Give it time, wait awhile, and see where you are to go or what you're to do. |

I think it's scary because you're scared about being held down in a paralyzed state not awake and not asleep so your mind sees things that paralyze you with fear. |
