What wild weather here!!!

Just the other day we were having nasty rain/hail and I was talking to hubby about it. He was telling me to stop being a worry wart....that we just don't get tornadoes here...the last one was over 40 years ago. So.....of course I told him 'That just means we're DUE for one'

Uh yeah. Open mouth, insert foot.

Spent over an hour last night hunkered down with the babies because of warnings....

We had one or two tornadoes The news originally said two, but now it looks like maybe just one the hopscotched around...one report said it was 1/4 wide, another said 1/2....This happened around 11pm so we may never really know.

Over 30 homes completely leveled. Probably close to 40 million in total damage.

Best part? Tonight should be rocky too! Nice huh?

Anyway it was way too close for comfort. Less than a mile from us....

This USE to be a hardware store. Completely gone.....

Don't really have anything else. they are REALLY restricting where people can go right now.

There.......I have had my 'close encounter' with a tornado. Good enough for me. Time to move!!!!! (If I could only convince hubby!)

***Ranked as an EF4

Becky

Date: 6/13/2008 1:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 12862    Wow, we had tornado's bouncing around us to last night here in northwest Iowa! One was only a mile from me. The sirens went off in town but I was still watching outside. lol Our firemen were out spotting and I heard them on my scanner so I new where the tornado was. My fiance Rod saw one also on his way home from work. It was only and half mile from his car on the drivers side. He said it was big but it didn't touch ground thank goodness. Glad to hear you are OK. Hugs,
