DELIVER US FROM EVIL-Segment 2: Welcome to Nufdlan

The sun rose on a beautiful, lush green hillside fruitful of plantlife-bushes, flowers, damp blades of grass flourishing the countryside and village of Nufdlan. Nufdlan was a peaceful little village of good,hard-working people who were very outgoing, friendly, down-to-earth, and determined to meet whatever dreams they wished to achieve. In the village at this early time of day, people began wandering the streets and getting work, shopping, and other activities out of the way. A large tent representing a bakery hovered over three men getting things ready for the day to feed hungry families who didn't feel the need for a large meal but merely a healthy snack. The baking manager, Oiram Yelneh, was 6'0 feet tall with brownish-golden skin, brown eyes under thick black eye brows, and had a large, jet black moustache.

Oiram told his two employees, Nosaj Seehrov and Airam Nedews, to go and get more dough from his straw cabin home just half a mile away and still in the village. Nosaj and Airam mounted two donkeys to pacen the time to serve the commoners and in 5 minutes, they were parked outside their manager's home. Nosaj was about 5'11 and half feet tall, with brown hair and a touch of blonde, hazel eyes and slightly pale skin, almost 19 years old. Airam Nedews was almost 20 years old, with red hair, eyeglasses and was 6'1 in height and very skinny. Nosaj and Airam are very close friends. They met each other when they were in their middle and secondary education classes and in their vocational class, which was aimed at boosting their skills construction of homes and even shops. But since they couldn't go back into school for their adult classes until Fall, they've been working in a friendly little bakery part-time for the Summer Season.

Nosaj and Airam went into Oiram's hutt of a home and found bags of dough on top of a small drawer beside the doorway from the home inside. They grabbed it and walked out. Nosaj than walked past his mother, Amelap on the streets, a graying-blond haired lady with spectacles and a large, red jacket, poking her finger at the shoulder of Nosaj's white tunic. 'Don't forget, my son, you will meet us later this evening for Mass, I'll see you later,' she said ina friendly, but stern and straightforward sounding voice. As she walked away, Nosaj said, 'See ya then,' and the two made their way back to their job area. They set the dough on the wooden tables under the large tent and lit some matches in piles of wood under a large pan hanging from one of wooden poles holding the tent up.

Nosaj and Airam are close friends and they also made a good friendship with the baker Oiram. Oiram also toldNosaj that he himself was also heading to Mass at the Catholic Church in the village tonight as well. Airam wasn't going to Mass since he believes differently but in the same God. He is Jewish and goes to the synagogue of the village as his house of worship, and, as many close friends do from time to time, Nosaj and Oiram learned about and even discovered and experienced each other's beliefs every once in awhile.

Nosaj and Airam spent just several hours of the morning serving bread loafs to many commoners before being led out of the entrance by Oiram to go home. The two hung out for a bit around the woods and trees, fencing with wooden sticks and making fun from many outdoor activities. The two later went home in the early evening,Airam getting ready to take a nap in his home and Nosaj making hi way through his doorway and then getting ready for the evening's Mass. An hour later, he walked out the door and down the street to his parish. He met his mother, grandmother, and Oiram sitting in the rows of wooden seats before a large alter and a big, wooden Cross on the center of the wall above the altar with a plaster representation of Jesus Christ on it. The Priestmade his way in as Mass began with the opening hymn. After the 1st, 2nd, and Gospel readings, the Priest made his Homily about the virtues of hard work vs. laziness in the eye of hard workers themselves. After that, the Offering proceeded followed by the whole service praying the Nicene Creed, then preparation for Communion, the whole Mass praying the 'Our Father' and then Communion beginning shortly thereafter. Mass ended with theupcoming events for the week announced and the closing hymn.

As the people left the parish, Nosaj and Amelap said goodnight to Oiram and other friends and relatives and began to settle down for the evening after they came home. Nosaj went to bed and drifted to sleep....Nosaj wasin a pitch black setting with nothing but reoccuring sightings of flames that he wasn't even sure he was actually seeing as they appeared and vanished, appeared and vanished all over the dark. He heard an echoing, deep, growling voice say something like, '...The golden coin, among this miniscule village...' He then saw a large golden eye from above shine and heard laughter from the same voice...Nosaj awoke, sweating and wide-eyed, and began to decide he needed some water...
