I’ve left the road to nowhere
Far behind you see,
Although it was long traveled
It was not where I should be.
It took me many places,
Defeating me along the way
Traveling in the darkness
While dreaming in the day.
Of a place I’d never seen,
A life I’d never known,
A fantasy I’d created,
That I wished to call my own.
A road that led to somewhere.
A place of hope and cheer,
Where happiness could be found
Within the arms of someone dear.
To a home where I can share
The roads I’ve left behind,
And talk about the lifetime
Of roads I know we’ll find.
