That’s great. But I have two questions, why are you cleaning it up and why is the door missing. Here in IL. as with a lot of states the landlord has to have the place painted and professionally cleaned prior to new tenancy. I would also have the door replaced or at least have it noted on your move in check list also take plenty of photos (with time stamp on) of the condition before you move in CYB. Then when you move out also take photos of it after your furniture is out. That way you can get your deposit back incase it goes to court. Good luck and happy times in your new place.  |

Thanks for the advice Dis. I appreciate it. We're going to call the landlord and see if he will deduct some money from my rent if we paint and re-do the place. It looks like it hasn't been rented in a while.  |
