spending time with each other is what really matters... i like the idea of staying in, rent a movie, turn some music on and dance, just be with him, im sure that would make his day |

I like the idea of making him a coupon book. Something like 2 kisses when you are having a bad day, a backrub, things like that. It's personal and you took the time to make it! ;o) |

Do a painting together on the day, or take a bunch of new photos down at a park or a look out or something |

I make chocolate covered strawberries, and we don't drink alcohol so I buy the sparkling apple juice, this is the first year in 16 years that me and hubby will be home together on Valentine's evening. Planning on the strawberries, and we are getting a good movie to just watch. Spending time together is more important to us than gifts etc. |

It would depend on your budget but, you could do several things The week leading up to the big day lol. Leave subtle little notes laying around for him. If, he takes a lunch put a note in that says Thinking of you, Can't wait only blah, blah hours left, (a picture of yourself) Now, I can be on your mind as well. Then, on the big day itself call him home early answer the door wearing lol not g rated you get the idea and lead him into a warm, fuzzy little bubble bath with champagne lol. Okay now, that was cheesy:-P Have a great Valentines |

Since my fiance always leaves for work around 4am one year I cut out like 100 little pink and red hearts and taped them all over his truck. I put his gift in his truck which was a new fishing pole. Everywhere I knew he went in the morning I left a heart note with some type of candy. Ex: by his toothbrush I left starbursts and a note that said "When you kiss me I see stars." Little corny things like that. But I think he really loved it. This last year I made him a scrapbook of every single picture we had ever taken together since we began dating. I left extra pages so I can continue to add over the coming years. |

I love the pic idea, if I knew someone good with a camera I'd consider that too! :-) I'm with you in the romance boat though, all I can think of are the typical cliche things. |
