We've been looking around for apartments since we got back into PA. We have a very tiny room here at my mom's house and I JUST got a job recently, so money has been really tight. Cameron has yet to find a job, but he's still trying. It's difficult for him to get a job around here, because this area is extremely conservative and he has a lot of facial piercings and he also has hand tattoos. One idea we had was to look in neighboring cities for possible apartments. I can easily transfer jobs after a month or so and he'd have more of a chance of getting a job in a bigger city.
So, anyway, we've been looking in Philly. It's about 45 minutes away from my hometown and the jobs are a lot more readily available out there. Of course, the crime rate is ridiculously high, but you just have to know where the "good areas" are versus the bad.
We came across a loft community and we completely fell in love. Not only do they accept ALL pets including Pit Bulls which is rare, but they offer BEAUTIFUL loft apartments.. HUGE kitchens with granite countertops [a big kitchen is important to me and you can never find a one bedroom apartment with a big kitchen], hardwood floors except for the carpeted loft bedroom, giant bathrooms detailed in marble.. it's just completely awesome.. all this for under $800 a month.
We'll have to wait until we have at least moderately reliable transportation [a beater car is acceptable], but this is definitely something we're really hoping for.

I remember Sangelina and my first "digs." We also had a labrador retriever pup. (our baby, that chewed up our meager furnishings.) Beginnings are cool.
