Hi there! I have chronic back pain also. I found out I have two slipped discs in my backpack when I was 16. I'm 19 now, and have three slipped discs. I see a doctor for it, and go to pain management. I got an epidural a few months ago, and I get nerve blocks in the lower back area. I also have the same issue in my neck. Anyway.. the only thing I can do when I have horrid pain is take a pain pill. My doctor said that the only thing that will work for the type of pain I have is narcotics, so as much as I hate taking them, I always have to take a percoset or lortab when my back is giving me one of those days. ((hugs)) I'm sorry that you are having one today! Does the weather affect you? |

Sometimes the cold bothers other parts of my body (I have fibromyagia too) My docter says my disc's are leaking out fluid witch burns the nerve endings and causes pain..what I want to know is why so many young people these days are having such bad back problems..I'm only 30 but my back started hurting when I was 16..I take narcotic pain medication to keep the pain down..It was really hard for me to get on pills after struggeling so hard with my addictions. It's just something I have to do now to be able to function.I am ashamed of it though. |

I've had chronic pain for years. It took me over three years to even get a diagnosis for what was wrong with me.(Polycystic Kidney Disease) Sometimes my back kills me and back pain isn't fun. I also get joint pain and had chronic daily headaches for over three years. I know for awhile I let the pain get the best of me and I just lived my life taking narcotics and not doing anything but trying to get through the pain. Once I got out of that mindset, went and stuck with pain management, came off all the narcotics, stuck to the diet taylored to me and made sure I excersized daily regardless of the pain, it took awhile but I finally beat the pain and got my life back. I know if I mess up even for one day on the diet and eat too much salt, I'll pay the price the next day, feeling like I'm a 90 year old with rheumatoid arthritis. lol If I stop exercising my body also lets me know it's not happy. I make sure everyday I get up and live my life regardless of the pain because I know one day of that mindset can lead to two, to three, etc. You can beat pain, and you said that most days, you do. Bad days happen but you can still beat it. Hope you feel better. |

I can relate...I have FM too and arthritis. Also the lower back is very sensitive. I take a muscle relaxer 2 x a day unless I have to drive and I also take hydrocodone occasionally when I am overwhekmed with pain. I have a high pain tolerance from living with pain so many years. I stay at a 7-8 level of pain most days. |

Hi SeVen first off we all have those days so don't worry and ((((hugs)))) to you! I suffer from back pain and nerve pain in my lower back and in my upper back around my shoulders and it is very painful and just like you I whine and sometimes cry. But every now and again I take a deep breath and try my best to deal with it. My dad has a lot of back problems too and sometimes he can't move for days and he just relaxes until he can feel better again. As family don't feel bad because as you take care of others they should do the same for you. Try maybe some back exercises or strengthening that can help you. I know meditation and yoga help for chronic pain. Feel better! |
