The V&K Chronicles 2
Troh dozed off in sleep, turning every so minutes to hours...He was back at the forest he had been to earlier that same evening, only it was now completely dark in the blue-black night sky...it was cold...the wind in the trees was stronger than ever, shaking the branches almost viciously, the sound of leaves brushing and even coming off the branches and twigs themselves. He held firmly onto the dagger at his side...he heard whsipered giggling among the trees and he did NOT like the sound of it. The moon was full and while he was chilled to the bone and a little cold, a feeling inside him made him want to run in the forest and find out what goes on when some people aren't around this area. the giggling continued and he found a narrow and long, dark pathway into the woods and decided to walk very cautiously, holding his sheath-covered dagger at his hip ever so firmly.
As soon as he started walking in, the giggling decreased some. It was still heard and still continuous, but just not as much. He then stopped in his tracks. A woman in flowing white clothing was striding just a few trees and some feet away. She had shining blonde hair, fair skin, and sea-blue eyes, walking among the trees, humming and giggling. Troh was speechless. He approached her, walking nearer her direction. He finally came behind her and said to her, 'Milady, aren't you cold out here? Let me help you if you--' The lady turned around to face him with a stern, but not very emotional expression on her face and held her index finger to her lips to show him she wanted silence. '...Need it,' Troh finished. She turned back around and didn't seem bothered at all by a man who was noticeably shorter than her following her. She finally stopped, observing a hammock made of vines and wood, and laid down on it. Troh was now even more speechless, observing a complete but very beautiful-to-him stranger lying down on what must be her bed in what must be her area she lived. She had already closed her eyes and gone to sleep. Troh couldn't resist brushing his finger gently across the side of her face. 'Who are you?' He asked. 'My name is Nna Nelah and I am a fairy of this forest. My dear, your company is very pleasing to me, but I think you need to leave soon, before the Ragah arrives,' she said in a soft, breathtaking voice. 'The Ragah?' Troh asked. 'Yes,' she replied. 'They are fearsome beasts with reptilian faces and human-like features in the arms and upper-body with legs like horses. They can spit small but dangerous flames and the fairy are very good at avoiding them and sometimes even stopping them. Humans are usually vulnerable to them, sometimes even when they have what they consider weapons. My dear, I have noticed you've been clutching a dagger nervously until you came by me. Please go, I can manage very well.' Troh wanted to reply, but hesitated when he heard a raspy growl behind him some feet from a set of bushes and when he decided to turn around, he saw a set of red, narrow eyes.
'My dear, one has arrived. Please run!' Nna got up. Troh jogged a few feet away and the reptilian monster she must have been speaking of leaped out of the darkness but was pushed backward, landing on the cold, hard ground after a large, shining light came from the fairy's eyes and onto the creature as she floated in the air and yelled, 'Your kind be done for!'
Troh woke up sweating...it was bright and early as the sun outside his room shined on his face. He had a weird dream, a weird, horrifying, beautiful dream that made him want to work so much to get it off his mind, but a dream that later in the nighttime afterwards made him want to go to the forest and he made sure he would when that time came when night would fall the coming night...
