What's Been Going On........And Pictures....................Becky

So recently I've been getting some PM's from people wondering if I've dropped off the face of the earth, been eaten by wild dogs, hiding from the law, or if I'm off saving the world...you name it. So I look back, and I realize I have not posted since July. Well, no wonder!

No, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth.

No, Thankfully I haven't been eaten by wild dogs.

Last I checked, I'm not running from the law either.

But, yes I am saving the world....one diaper change and feeding at a time.

Sometimes I even wish the mother ship would come and beam me up!

A lot has been going on, I just have my plate full...Here's a compilation of some of the stuff keeping me on my toes during the days. I go change the baby's diaper, go to the bathroom or something else that takes my attention away from the older one for a moment....and boom, I have a toddler who has taken raw eggs from the fridge and cracked them on the tile and carpet. Or...gotten the sports cream and smeared it on her face. Or....put herself in her sisters high chair. Or my favorite...taken a bite out of my deoderant. See? busy times.

Here's an expensive lesson I had to swallow. LONG story short.....I had a boil lanced after I had Savannah.....because it was in the hospital, they considered it minor surgery. When the bill came, that alone came to $865....Um...yeah....seriously, I wanted to crawl under a rock.

LESSON: if it can wait 48 hours to have it done in an office and not the hospital...WAIT..

Last month I was sick as a dog...went to the doctor Monday morning, told me I had bronchitis....by evening I was in the emergency room. moved down into pneumonia. Unfortunately the ER doctor didn't TELL me that when you have pneumonia, you get worse before you really get better. So I was one sick puppy.....Anyway, lesson learned, don't be a wimp, cough it all up!

Hey how about the latest....ice storm! Wheeeeeeeee! As of today still 6,500 house holds in our town still without power. We've been fortunate, and have only lost it a few times when their working on stuff. power lines along the interstate are so weighed down with ice their nearly touching the ground. So...me being me, well we had to walk around town and get some pictures.

Side note....the new post editor, this thing ROCKS!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE

Becky

PS. if anyone knows of a good potty training 'boot camp' let me know ;)

PPS: My profile is always open, I may not post much any more, but I do check in daily :)

Date: 12/15/2007 3:30:00 AM  From Authorid: 25390    LMAO. I still love the Celeste eating deodorant story. YUCK! As for potty training boot camp, I wish I could tell ya, LOL. Hunter was a pain in the butt to potty train!! I had to just keep him on a schedule. Every 30 minutes he went to the bathroom whether he had to go or not. Finally, he just sort of "got the hang of it." I had him trained on "tee tee" first. Going "poop" was a different story. That took a LOT of patience.
Date: 12/15/2007 6:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 33925    Beautiful pics Becky!! I cannot believe Celeste is so big now!! Look at the hair!! Wow..Life has this funny way of keeping you busy doesn't it?? Man I hate the "real" world sometimes..LOL
Date: 12/15/2007 6:59:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16845    Yeah LL She finally is growing hair!!! LOL I think Savannah had more hair at birth than celeste did at 18 months LOL
Date: 12/15/2007 7:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 62579    Beautiful family you have. We had an ice storm once and had no power for 10 days! We lost a lot of our forest because the trees just fell all over the place from the weight of the ice. I guess I am not alone. I have a 3.5 yr old and 5 month old. I could go on all day with my stories lol.
Date: 12/15/2007 7:07:00 AM  From Authorid: 10245    best potty training boot camp: wait until she's showing physical signs of being ready, then hide all of the pull ups and diapers. Best bet: switch her to pull ups for a little bit first, then get rid of them, so she won't automatically think about asking for one of the baby's diapers. Let her pick out her own big girl panties and let her get them wet them a couple times. She'll catch on quick. You can get a diaper cover to help cut down on puddles around the house and the resulting laundry pile. Good luck! I trained all of mine the same way and had it done within a couple of days for both versions, though one of my sons was a lot older than the others before we found success. Girls are a whole bunch easier.
Date: 12/15/2007 7:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 10245    your girls are adorable, Becky! and even though ice storms are treacherous, they sure are beautiful! Love the stories... welcome to the wonderful world of being the mother of a trouble making toddler. ;o) Aren't eggs fun? Mine still do that kind of thing.
Date: 12/15/2007 7:19:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 16845    She's been in pull ups for a LONG time (At least a year).....because she wouldn't leave normal diapers on, but will leave the pull ups on. She's showing signs of being ready. She'll even sit on the potty un-prompted. or tell us that she wants to go potty, etc.. The problem is we just can't get her to do anything. I even tried just switching to the underwear......I didn't even think to use diaper covers. There's a thought. Anyway. We're going to work with her over christmas....we'll be at my folks house so I can get my mom to help out a bit, maybe save some of my sanity Thanks folks
