What a day today turned out to be...........LadyLuck

Hello USM;

Today started off a bit whacky..I should have known that it was going to get worse. First of all, the girl I travel with messaged me on facebook to tell me I would need to find a ride to work with someone else because she had a Doctor's appointment and would be late going into work. Good thing I checked Facebook or I would have been sitting there waiting and waiting!

I get to work about 8:30am and start my morning ritual of checking reports and getting my daily focus email ready for my team. I get bombarded as soon as I come through the door because a HUGE snowstorm hit one of our Ontario centers today and our site was needed to help pick up the slack so to speak.

About an hour later, our Facilities Manager gets hauled into a meeting with our Employee Relations Coordinator and told that her position is being dissolved and as of January 4th she is no longer employed..

Shortly afterwards our Corporate trainer and Training coordinator are hauled in for the same meeting! Our Corp trainer is done on December 14th and our Training Coordinator, January 25th.

You see, a few months ago our company "merged" with a larger corporation and we are now "aligning" ourselves with them. That means positions are being phased out.

I felt so bad for these three ladies. To be told that you are going to be no longer employed right before Christmas...brutal..ugh

THEN in the midst of all of this we are hit with a HUGE snowstorm all our own!! Yeah..35-40 cms of snow to come down before it is all said and done. It took my husband and I over an hour to get home because we had to drive so slow. The roads were a mess and visibility was next to NIL.

*Sigh*...I need some hugs.
