Been a long time since I posted lately, but I figured this was just a wee bit over due.:)
Hello to all you new and old USMers. This is a little late, but it has been 7 wonderful years now with this site. Not only have I made many wonderful friends, but I have also had the pleasure of meeting a few in person this last year. This site has been a home away from home for me through these years, as many know that have talked to me. I have watched in the last 7 years, as USM has grown from just a small site of people, to the world wide family it is today. I say family, because this site has brought so many cultures together in one place. Where else on the internet can you go and find such an amazing assortment of people, stories and over all love for the human race.
You see, this was but a place for a hobby to start and George and Ginger took it to the next level. They wanted to see a place on the net that would be friendly, and above all welcoming to everyone in the world. Here on this site, we are not a religion, an ethnic background, or even an age. We are all people that have come together in opinions, ideas, and most of all love for each other. There are faults in all of us, and on this site, those faults melt into the background. We have the ability here to share all of our experiences, and show that not one person is alone in this world. We have come together and made a dream, a thought, an idea if you will, come true for two very wonderful people.
I always wanted to meet the creators of this site; and in Alabama this last summer I did just that. They are so kind and caring; both of them just want to see the joy in each and every one of you. Only a few have actually met these wonderful people, but they; through your stories have met all of you. Our words tell them who we are, in our stories, poetry, discussions, and yes even our debates, you are all showing the real sides of who you truly are on the inside. I never thought I would be part of a community on the internet as long as I have this one.
This site has seen me through many hardships, and for that I can never say thank you enough to you all. It amazes me how so many people can come together in one place, and still find the time to care about each other. We all have our lives in the world, but here we all are; still on USM making a difference. This is one place you know you can come to, and always find a friendly voice to talk to.
George and Ginger, you two have made a place in the world to be remembered for all eternity. You found a way to bring the world into a state of peace, even if only a few minutes a day for each of us. You truly deserve a humanitarian award, and more.
The rest of you, you make that peace something special. That is always something we all will remember in our hearts, and as we pass on into the next life.
