Clinton did confess to smoking pot. By stating that he "didn't inhale" he was relieving some of the tension by adding humor. A very good tactic. A DUI is also putting more people in danger. But on the other hand, everyone does make mistakes, and as long as it wasn't an act of treason or embezzlement, I don't think Americans should over react. *Pisces* |

As long as they don`t do it anymore! *~KiKi~* |

IMO Bush seems to be a lot more honest than Clinton ever was. As for the DUI, I don't condone drinking and driving now, but when I was younger I also did it. I'm not proud of it and I am amazed that I wasn't hurt and neither was anyone else. So much of the time tragedy strikes and someone ends up hurt seriously or dead. That being said, if that's all that is in this man's past, I see no reason to condemn him for it. If we were to be honest, many of us would admit to doing it during our teenage years, or maybe after that. Of course I do realize that I am not a presidential candidate, but they are human also. As Pisces has stated, we all make mistakes. |

The past is the past. Clinton should have told the truth right away, but what else can you do? Everyone makes mistakes... |

Bush didnt really "fess up". It came out in the papers, so he had to admit it. Several monthes ago when asked about any arrests, he didnt say anything about it.... |

I don't think that it matters what anyone has done in the past, just as long as you learn from your mistakes and are not doing it now. Ares |

Well, shucks, everyone makes mistakes. And people are people, we aren't perfect. So I can't be mad at them, I guess...now if they had KILLED someone, that would be different. |

I admire Bush for admitting his past, that shows that he isnt afraid to admit his mistakes and that he is honest, Clinton on the other hand is a pathological liar, he cant fess up to anything. DREWPOO |

I think that the government should legalize pot. I do not smoke it now but it's no worse than alcohol. I did smoke some in my high-school but that was years ago. I believe that alcohol impaires someone much worse than a hit off a joint ever would. People are constantly getting pulled over for drunk driving because alcohol impaires your vision beyond belief. I hope that no one drinks and drives and smokes pot and drives but if it had to be one or another, i would want the guy who smoked some pot to be on the road opposed to some wasted guy behind the wheel. well, that's just my opinion.. |

DUIs are serious offenses. I totally agree with JV....I'd rather have a mellowed-out pot smoker than an irresponsible drunk driver. |
