How long ago did it happen? get to Planned Parenthood (or someplace similar) and get the morning after pill-the sooner you take it the more successful it is. And no it's NOT an abortion pill, it stops the egg from being fertilized if it hasn't been. Other than that, I'm afraid I don't know the signs. Best of luck, I hope all turns out well! |

Yes, if it was 72 hours ago or less, go to Planned Parenthood immediately for the morning after pill. |

Stressing isn't going to help. Try to relax, and wait till your next period is due. If you miss, then wait a few days and take a test. |

First of all, you can not regret it, because it will kill you. Caitie if you are pregnant, then you have to tell someone you can talk to, so they can help you. I don't know how you feel about abortion, but the morning after pill is kind of the same thing. All though, Abortion is viewed in many different ways, everyone has their own opinion and their own choices. I personally don't feel it's right, but everyone is different. TALK TO SOMEONE and most importantly go to the drugs store and pick up a pregnancy test. |

A blood test is the quickest and most reliable method of finding out. The pregnancy hormone will show up in your blood much faster than in your urine. |

again, the morning after pill is NOT an abortion pill (unless you're die-hard Catholic (maybe some other religions out there too, just know of them for sure) and believe that any contraceptive should be banned). What it does is works a bit like regular birth control--stops the egg from being fertilised BEFORE it's met with the male half. (someone correct me if I'm wrong, that's the way it was explained to me by the doctor at PP, not that I ever had to use it, but they go through all options so you know it's available). That's why it's most successful within the first 24 hours, success rate diminishes each time period after. |

I believe the morning after pill actually prevents implantation, not fertilization. Now I'm going to have to go look it up to satisfy my own curiosity. |

Ok, guess it works to try to prevent fertilization, prevents ovulation, and prevents implantation (Should the other two fail)... |

I dont know much about the morning after pill, so don't take my advice. I guess it's all how you feel. |

Thank you all so much for replying. All of you have helped me a lot! I took the morning after pill, but it was almost 5 days after having sex. The lady at Planned Parenthood said after 5 days it won't work at all and it's only about 70% effective when I took it since it was so long after actually having sex. I'm just crossing my fingers now and hoping for the best, but preparing myself to cope if I am pregnant. Thanks again! I'll let you all know how it all goes. -Caitie |
