I screamed and fell face first onto the pips, my head striking the metal hard.I could feel blood pouring out of the wound. The tapping of the man's boots coming toward me down the pipe. It was over. His bootsteps got closer, and finally he was right on top of me. I close my eyes, prepared for the end, and it came.
A blow struck the back of my head, and I was thrust into darkness.
"Lisha?"
"Hi Eric," She smiled, her thin lips curling into a smile, her eyes lighting up.
"Am I back?"
"You can't go back Eric, not now."
"Why? What is it? Why am I here? Is there something I need to do?"
"Eric, there is nothing you need to do, you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time."
"The wrong place?"
Suddenly the scenery changed. We were in the hall at my school, the sides of the hall were lined with lockers, just lockers. No one else was in the hall but her and I, and the air around us was fogged, distorted. She walked toward me, she was beautiful. She wore a blue tank-top, covered by a red sweater, her hair flowed as she walked toward me, laying her hand on my shoulder.
"You will have to accept some things," She told me, a serious look on her face.
"This place, is your school. You used to go here, but not anymore. You had a family once too."
The background changed to my living room at home. There was a couch, a television, a coffee table. Behind the couch were the stairs that led up to my room. But no one was here.
"I want to come home," I said. "Tell me how to come home!"
Her expression changed, her eyes began to tear. "I want you to come home!" She choked, tears poured from her eyes. "I want you to come home! Don't you understand?! I don't know how many more times I can do this!"
"What? I don't.."
"I know you don't understand! Believe me, I know, but now you have to wake up, get this over with and come back to us!" She let go of me and dropped to her knees, sobbing.
"Come back to me! Don't you dare leave me alone again!" She stood up and pushed me toward a locker.
"Wh---what are you doing?!" I struggled to get out of her grip, but I couldn't. She opened up the locker and pushed me in. "Come back to me Eric," She said, as she slammed the door shut.
"Hey!" I shouted, but my voice was distant. My voice faded like an echo. And then I woke up.
