Medical care in the US is in such terrible shape right now. It's time for legislation to step in and start setting some higher standards for care. This system simply is not working. |

Your urine test wasn't negative if they found mucus in it. Call them back and ask for your results, and get a second opinion. If you have a kidney infection, you need to get on some meds. |

And if you're pregnant, UTIs are common and can become kidney infections if not treated... |

The 1st urine test i guess had puss in it from what the doctors office found. So the hospital took the urine straight from my bladder for the second test. (the doct. office figured it may be a kidney infection) I ended up having to be hooked up to an IV since i was dehydrated. So when I had a blood test done, the needle went straight through the first vein, and so by the 3rd needle poke they barley got enough blood. |

I totally agree that our medical system is just the saddest!! Are you unable to get medicaid since, you are pregnant?? I would check with your state's Dhs office. It will usually pay for pregnant mothers and then, later thier children that is an idea. Whatever you do don't fall for that medicaid buy in program. You are only allowed a certain amount of visits per year and only three prescriptions a month and you pay about 1/4 of your income. Anyhow, I would try to see if medicaid is available to you and certainly get a second opinion. ((HUGS)) I hope all turns out well for you. |

i don't see how your urine test could come back clean IF They found pus in it... it's not clean if there is something in it... it's crazy how much they can charge for some tests... unfortunately i don't know anything medical wise IF it's a UTI(urninary track infection) drinking pure cranberry juice will help clear it up(not the punch and no sugar added stuff) other then that.. i don't know anything else helpwise.. other then trying to seek a second opinion(what is only going to cost more money frustratingly enough) |

You can speed the process of the states program by doing this... Two things one find a medicaid health advocate in your state. This is the person usually found in the hospital whom handles medicaid for you so that you don't have to try to do it. Have all of your papers ready and on hand make copies. Have your doctor's notes handy that state you are indeed pregnant and by how many months, your latest medical expenses, if you work show at three recent pay stubs. Then, go to your local wic office. Many people say but they only give you milk and cheese. This is wrong yes they give you milk, cheese, beans, juice and etc. but, what else they do is exams to make sure you and the baby are doing well. Wic is usually instant approval if, you give them all of the above things and you meet the guidelines which are slightly higher than medicaid guidelines. They can also help expediate medicaid if, you speak with the wic advocate. Hope that helps you some. |

OMG your health system is in a real mess. $1600, thats outrageous! On top of that you are feeling miserable. Gosh, I can't believe how bad it is over there. People whinge here, but in comparision, we have nothing to complain about. Gee, I hope you feel better real soon, and that everything at work turns out okay too. Gosh, still can't believe the system over there. *leaves post shaking head* |

Nurses and doctors can be very insensitive not sure if it is because they are over worked or are tired of HMO's but something is not right a second opinion might be in order. BUt it is easy to say what to do when you are not in the same situation. Good luck and keep us posted Love and Hugs - Bunny Mom |
