So Sorry I haven't updated....

Hi guys,

I'm sorry I haven't updated. I've been trying very hard to get used to my husband's new schedule at work, which has I think caused my latest migraines to be very draining on me.

On the 31st of July, I went in for my mammogram. Which I must say it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I got my results, a couple of days ago, and the lump that I have ended up to be normal. That's all the paper said when it was sent to me, so I don't have much else to go on besides that, though.

So, BIG Yay for that! Still on a standstill when it comes to my migraines though. My next appointment is on the 13th, I hope I can push my doctor to really start helping me find an answer.

I want to thank several of you, I've started a journel, and so far haven't figured out the triggers, but also on some of ya'll's suggestions and theories, I plan to ask my doctor to try to eliminate them. :)

So, THANK YOU, USM, for your support and for your thoughts. :)

I love ya'll!

*hugs*

Date: 8/8/2007 5:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 10773    I'm glad to hear that your mammogram results came back without bad news. A journal for your migraines is a good idea. Hopefully soon you will find answers for why you're having these migraines. *hugs* You're in my prayers, Amanda.
Date: 8/8/2007 5:56:00 PM  From Authorid: 33925    Sounds like the lump was a fibroid cyst..VERY normal especially after child birth and such..It's almost like a blocked milk duct. I get them quite often and they are not serious at all. I hope you can get the answers you need about your migraines very soon! Love you bunches and bunches!
Date: 8/8/2007 5:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 58308    That's good news! I'm glad to hear that everything in that area is good. As far as the migraines go... I hope you have all the answers you need very quickly so they can be stopped. Love ya, girl!! Get better fast!!!

Date: 8/8/2007 6:13:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    So far haven't found any triggers, but I am keeping a journal now, hopefully within the next few weeks I can distinguish a pattern to know if it is evironmental or something that I am intaking. I've never heard of Tiger's balm.. What is that? *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 6:14:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Oops, meant to say thank you Angi *slaps forehead* *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 6:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 21839    yaahhh! I am glad the mammogram came back normal.. I pray they will find out what is causing the migraines & that it is something that can be fixed pretty easily... keep us updated... *hugs & prayers*
Date: 8/8/2007 6:17:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    SS, I know, I can't remember who on here suggested the journal idea, but it is a fantastic one. Thank you sweety *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 6:19:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    LL, that's what mom said she thought it might be. They didn't elaborate more in the letter they sent. Just knowing whatever it is is normal is good enough for me right now.. Thanks sweety! I love ya too! *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 6:22:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Thank you Zeebs, Kiki, and SD Angel I hope that I can get my doctor to explore further with me, it'd be great to be able to say at least what I "KNOW" isn't causing it, since I don't have answers now. A few people here have suggested some very good ideas to ask my doctor. I had a spinal block when I had my son, one suggested that it could be my sciatic nerve. Another suggested it could be a blood vessel issue, and someone just today let me know that there was a broadcast in her area about a woman that got migraines when the weather did drastic changes. I have many more than this as theories go, that are written down. I plan on asking my doctor to look into all of them to see if we can narrow down what it might be if it isn't environmentals or something I am eating. Thanks gals! *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 6:24:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Thank you Ronda! As soon as I know anything more concrete about the migraines I will post about it. Hopefully I will at least know something more after my appointment this coming week. *crosses fingers* *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 6:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 28848    I'm glad it turned out okay.
Date: 8/8/2007 6:38:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Thanks RM.. So am I It makes the stress level that I've had more recently go down a bit too. *huge hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 6:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 11251    ***hugs***
Date: 8/8/2007 6:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 10657    Amanda sorry I haven't made it back here lol. Tiger's balm is something you can get at just about any store look in the pharmacy section or ask them if they carry it. It sorta comes in a little tub like carmex does. It doesn't cost much and is fairly cheap you put it on the trigger spots of migraines like your temples, inside your wrists. Peppermint oil works great too as does even just sucking on a mint or chewing mint gum ((HUGS))
Date: 8/8/2007 7:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 23075    Amanda. I used to keep a journal but it wasn't really much help. My migraines are triggered from many things, not enough sleep, too much sleep, weather, certain foods, stress, just depends really. I'm glad that everything turned out good with your tests....and I hope you can soon get the migraines under control.
Date: 8/8/2007 7:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 23075    I put A535 Run on my temples, forehead etc when I get migraines...it helps mine.
Date: 8/8/2007 7:34:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Thanks Megan *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 7:35:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Angi, I figured it was something like that I don't know how it'd work on mine though since mine occur in the back right side of my head, where my hair is.. Possibly could put it on my neck though, and definitely worth trying. Thank you sweety *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 7:37:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Paddy, that's one thing I am afraid of , is that too many things trigger them that I wont be able to ever figure out how to completely rid myself of them. I suppose though that when getting used to avoiding what I can I can lessen them. I'll look to see if any of our stores carry A535 too while I look for the tiger balm. Both worth trying if I can find them Thank you hun *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 8:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 7830    any possibility they could be caused by some type of allergy or mold growth somewhere?
Date: 8/8/2007 8:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 27215    So glad and thankful that your mammogram was normal. I was reading your replies and tiger balm and peppermint oil was mentioned that they might. Another idea is to go and to an herbal store, if you have one where you live, and maybe they could tell you something that would or could help. Maybe the headaches would ease off, but you still need to go to the doctor and let him find out for sure what is causing them. I hope and pray that you can find some relief soon. Please don't be offended by my suggestions, I am trying to think of anything that might help some. I have been having migranes now will soon be 20 yrs. but mine don't last near as long as yours has been, so me and my little brain is trying to help out. Stay strong and get some rest and only update us when you feel like it. Remember that you are in my prayers...............
Date: 8/8/2007 8:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 64497    *hugs!* I'm glad that it turned out to be nothing. I hope they find out about those migraines, they probably hurt alot. -Callice
Date: 8/8/2007 9:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    Congratulations on the normal Mammogram. I hope you find the cause of your Migraine's soon. Like Paddy said, it could be from so many different things. HUGS
Date: 8/8/2007 9:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 62881    Hopefully there will be relief for you soon...
Date: 8/8/2007 9:22:00 PM  From Authorid: 64270    Wooo! Its great that it came out ok!
Date: 8/8/2007 9:23:00 PM  From Authorid: 43015    that's awesome to hear!! =D
Date: 8/8/2007 9:39:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Shai, I don't think so.. We did a check, and couldn't find any mold visible. I'm the only one being affected too. It could possibly be an allergy of some sort, but not sure. I thought that was what it was at one point, and took benadryl allergy for it, but didn't seem to help But maybe another allergy medication might be key. At this point I don't know what is triggering them. I hope it's something as simple as allergies though. Thanks hun. *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 9:41:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    White Fawn, we do have an herbal store. I'll definitely do that when I can get the chance to. Going anywhere, I have to depend on someone to take me because my eyesight is too bad to drive myself. I'm sorry that you are a fellow sufferer of migraines. They are icky things and I don't think you could offend me hun. Plus, I don't offend too very easily. Thank you. *hugs*
Date: 8/8/2007 9:46:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Thank you Callice, Nani, GEF, Assasin, and Blue. I'm hoping the journaling will help me pinpoint if it's something around me causing them. I'm in process of trying to get some medical aid, just waiting for my paperwork for that to get approved or not. If I get that, then maybe the doctor will help me eliminate anything illness/inside wise that is causing them. I do appreciate them giving me the MRI though, so don't get me wrong on them not helping me. They still havent gotten back to me on a second look of the MRI, I've called them 3 times since my ENT visit. Each time they say they are going to pull my chart and call me back. I need patience.. lol. *hugs* Thanks all!
Date: 8/8/2007 11:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 63011    I'm so glad to hear that your lump isn't serious! Hopefully you'll find answers to your migraines soon. I know they're a pain!
Date: 8/9/2007 5:48:00 AM  From Authorid: 36901    I'm glad to hear that the mammogram came out ok. I just hope they figure out why you're having migraines. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Date: 8/9/2007 1:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 34775    Hey Amanda, do you keep a food diary? Patrick had/has really horrible migraines and that helped us to determine what his triggers were. Write down the foods you eat...every single one of them...and then also when you get a migraine. When you can tell it's coming on and whatnot. Patrick's triggers ended up being stress and not enough sleep PLUS he needs more iron than most people to so he increased his iron intake with a daily iron supplement. Also, he has to eat a protien snack every 2 to 3 hours. your eyesight is too bad to drive? Are you sure, then that that doesn't have something to do with your migraines? having the wrong glasses prescription is the main cause of headaches and head pain in general.
Date: 8/10/2007 12:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 18928    Amanda you have been in my prayers and will continue to be <3 love you!!
Date: 12/4/2007 4:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 63725    That is wonderful about your mammogram results and I hope you are able to find the triggers soon. HUGS
