I'm glad that is not really bad news, like a brain tumor. It sucks that you have to get surgery though, but its awesome that they can be removed. I hope everything goes well -Callice |

Nasal polyps result from chronic inflammation in the lining of your nose or sinuses, but just what triggers the inflammation isn't always clear. Although nasal polyps can affect anyone, they're more common in people older than 40 and in adults and children with conditions such as asthma, chronic sinus infections, hay fever and cystic fibrosis.Medications are the most common treatment for small nasal polyps. Surgery may be needed to remove larger growths, but polyps frequently return. The procedure, called a polypectomy, is performed on an outpatient basis. After polypectomy, you'll be treated for any underlying inflammation, usually with corticosteroid nasal sprays and sometimes with antibiotics or oral steroids. Everything will be ok, and i will keep you in my thoughts and prayer. God bless you Amanda. Hugs.

A "huge cluster of polyps" requires Endoscopic Sinus surgery as opposed to a simple polypectomy. I'm sure the ENT surgeon will reccomend surgery. I'm certainly relieved to hear it wasn't cancer. Whew! *breaths* Amanda, stay cool, dear. It'll all work out. We're all thinking of you and love you. |

That sounds like really good news to me. I wonder if that is what causes cluster headaches, which are very much like migranes. The news is bad, also, like you said, but at least it is something that can be treated. I am really happy that they found what it was. Now, just try to get through this rest of this with good grace and as few headaches as possible. My prayers to you, Amanda! Love and Light |

if it makes you feel better... I know 2 people who have dealt with this. My mother-in-law had one huge polyp that was causing drainage that resulted in major infections regularly. She's been responsive to the steroid spray and it's shrunk quite a bit. My uncle sounds more like you... he had clusters and had to have them surgically removed, but it was pretty successful, too. He still has sinus issues, but he can function now with little head pain. I'm glad it's not anything more serious for you... it's serious enough. I hope things go even better with the mammogram. You're in my thoughts ;o) |
