Cats and Dogs

Since the start of time... Ok, well maybe not since the start of time.... but definintly since the start of Warner Brothers, cats and dogs have not gotten along. And there are many other things in the world that do not get along, no matter what. Granted, yes, they will have the occasional "Buddy Buddy" moment, the standing arm and arm... but in the end... the dog still wants to kill the cat, the cat still wants to eat the mouse, so on and so forth.

In the human world, this also applies. Take for example, the aftermath of 9/11. Most everyone became friends to stand and fight against a common threat, but eventually, what happens? We are all griping and fighting and killing among ourselves once more.

It is nature... not human, not animal, but simply.... nature, to not get along with everyone or everything. Eventually something is bound to snap and go off on the world around it.

Not everything in the world is pretty. Not everyone in the world is nice. And in the world, some people are bound to 'dislike' other people. Maybe its due to actions toward one another... or maybe...

Its something deep inside that tells them they are meant to be mortal enemies... Much like the cat and dog.

Just felt like sharing.

Date: 6/28/2007 10:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 26303    I don't believe everyone should like everyone. I tell the my kids and the kids I work with, that it is okay not to like someone, it's human. But we don't have to let them know by being nasty etc. Just don't have anything to do with them. I'm not so sure about mortal enemies. I personally don't have any. Well, I know and accept that there are people who don't like me. But mortal enemies, geez, I hope not.

Date: 6/28/2007 11:25:00 PM  From Authorid: 1799    lol. Yup
Date: 6/29/2007 6:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 37101    Humans are animalistic beings (highly advanced, but at the root of it...) and animal nature determines such things as, like you say, cats and dogs generally disliking each other. It's a thought. -

Date: 6/29/2007 6:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 3901    My cat and dog love eachother.. proving there is an exception to every rule.

Date: 6/29/2007 9:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 50864    My dogs and kitty love each other. My dogs hate other cats though. I agree about some people though some are just not meant to get along
Date: 6/29/2007 1:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 34663    I had several dogs that adored cats. Sure the cat didn't like being sneaked up on and licked by my dog, it scared the cat to death, lol, but that dog and several others, all cocker spaniels, loved cats and all animals, but that's the way those dogs are, they are very loving and nurturing dogs. But other than that I do agree, I often think of things like that, in times of distress people will jion hands in friendship but in the end the continue to hate each other as much as they always had.
