So, recently I've been in the market for a good watch. I have been told that dakota watch company and fossil have some of the best looking for their price but I don't know what to look for.

So I'm asking, what do you guys suggest? whats the fashionable/timeless(no pun) watch?

I'm looking for dress style, preferably stainless steel and not digital. price is not really a worry

Date: 6/14/2007 10:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    if you like the stainless steel look i really suggest the fossil they have an amazing warrenty(11yrs just checked the website) on thier watches and they honour thier warrenty(my father bought one and it broke 2yrs after and they replaced it for no cost) plus they are a quality watch water resistant and can usually take a decent beating from day to day wear.. i have known many who have one(i have one too wear it almost every day for a yr now and still no scratches on the glass and i was kinda rough on my watch at work)
Date: 6/14/2007 10:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 62881    For me, I have to know where the watch will be worn so I know what type to choose. Such as...to wear to work (in a physical job), to work in an office or management position, to wear out, wear in the water (or the possibility of getting it wet etc...

Date: 6/14/2007 10:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 43991    My family and I are all big fans of Fossil watches. My mom, brother, and I all have them. = )
Date: 6/14/2007 10:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 16865    The guys here say fossil. My dad says fossil. My mom says Timex. Ignore her. Her meds haven't kicked in yet.
Date: 6/14/2007 10:15:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 22080    that fossil is a little over the top
Date: 6/15/2007 12:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 21867    If price is not really a worry, and you're looking for something timeless/stylish and that will likely always be so...then go with something like a Tag Heuer. Nice solid watch, not too flashy (though some of the are), real classic and classy watch. Yes they can cost a fair bit...but hey...something like a Tag will last as long as you do and its unlikely you'll need another...so do it once, do it right...
Date: 6/15/2007 7:10:00 AM  From Authorid: 61897    You should really check out worldofwatches.com, they have nice, name brand watches at a steal! They don't have the watch I bought for my bf a few months ago for his birthday anymore, but here is one of the other watches I considered getting for him- http://www.worldofwatches.com/detail.asp?bo_products_variance_id=59275
