Ghosthunters VS Destination: Truth

I just finished watching Ghost Hunters and a preview for Destination: Truth came on. Apparently the D:T guy was going to Tialand to find the Naga. I automatically rolled my eyes at this, but it also got me to thinking.

Why am I willing to accept that there are ghosts but I automatically disbelieve in things like the naga? But also I do believe in the Lock Ness Monster.

Is it the Naga that I don't believe in or is it the guy on D:T that I think is not reliable?

Let me explain. On Ghosthunters, they are actually trying to DISPROVE a haunting. It is entirely scientific, none of that Oh I feel a dead spirit nonesense. (Sorry if some people believe in those people... but I am not one of them, and this is my post) No, they are using scientific equipment so that whatever they catch has documented proof. I think thats great! It makes the show that much better when at the end of it you can see or hear EXACTLY what they caught. As opposed to the Oh I feel someone here approach.

But then you get this Destination: Truth guy. He just seems to flaky to me. There is just something about him I don't like.... I just don't know what it is. And then the things he goes after.... in a sense I do believe in them.... and also, I don't.

I believe that at one point all the creatures of myth (ie: Dragons, Unicorns, Fey, Trolls, Giants, Etc) excisted. I think just like the dinosaurs they vanished. For all I know they may still be out there, somewhere we havent found yet. In no way have we seen every last inch of this earth. Who knows whats in the places we've missed you know?

And that is what I believe....

Whats your opinion?

Date: 6/14/2007 2:23:00 AM  From Authorid: 15070    I have never seen Destination: Truth. Though I used to watch GHOST HUNTERS. I like Jason & Crew. They are nice people. Pretty good at what they do, too.
Date: 6/14/2007 3:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 22188    I know what you mean; I tend to do the same thing. I will readily believe in certian things and immediately discredit others. I haven't seen Destination: Truth, but legends like that are hard to swallow. Also, there are all sorts of animals still being discovered...so maybe some of those legends ARE true. I found a show online called Ghosts R NEAR. It's hosted by the Ghost Hunters demonologists Cark and Keith, and Keith's wife too. Anyway, one interview the did was with a woman who is an expert in just these subjects...she's a paranormal zoologist of sorts. You can find the show on Google video. It's interesting stuff.

Date: 6/14/2007 6:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 1799    I've never seen Destination: Truth, but I LOVE Ghosthunters!
Date: 6/14/2007 7:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 18155    All the "real live" investigation productions as shown on t.v. are worth a look, some more or less, "interesting" but none, to me, are worth spending much time with.
Date: 6/14/2007 9:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 40350    The Destination Truth guy, to me, always seems like he is putting on a show, acting for the camera. I think that show could be much better without all the 'fake' drama...
Date: 6/14/2007 9:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 35160    Destination: Truth is stupid. i agree with shane, the guys just hamming it up for the camera. ghosthunters is awesome, i love that show.
Date: 6/14/2007 1:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 14464    I've never watched Destination: Truth before just seen commercail and from what I see it doesn'tlook interesting to me! I do however love watching GHost Hunters. I too like that they have proof that we can see and we do not have to go by their word. I like that also every noise made is looked into and ends up being something stupid that is not supenatural where as other shows I've seen it is automaticaly a spirit making the noises. I do beleive that some of the myths of creatures seen could be true, whose to say we've found every living creature on earth already.
Date: 6/14/2007 1:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 43991    I have seen Ghost Hunters many times and I like it a lot, but I have never seen Destination: Truth.
Date: 6/14/2007 2:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 18527    I will say the destination truth guy seemed like an idiot on the commercials but I watched it and the show is very funny.
Date: 6/14/2007 2:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 4887    Yeah I was watching DT and didn't really caught my attention. But, GH does. I'm like, glued to the couch when I watch them lol
Date: 6/16/2007 4:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 31765    I love Ghosthunters, but D:T hasn't rally caught me yet. The main guy sort of gets on my nerves lol..
