How on Gods green earth do you manage a social life working 9+ hours a day?

I recently got a job at Lowes and work generally 9 hours a day and I can't seem to do anything when I dont have to work cause if i get out at 8 i usually have to be in by 9 the next morning. This is so frustrating and depressing.

This would all be so much easier if I didn't have to work every weekend at early in the morning...

Date: 5/25/2007 7:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 19625    I work full time, it's extremely hard to have a social life, especially since I don't have a regular schedual (I can't spell that word for the life of me) Although, I generally only work 8.5 hours a day. But I work every weekend. Luckily my friends are the spontainious type, if they relied on advance plans I'd never see anyone.
Date: 5/25/2007 7:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    thats what days off are for.. and you really learn to appreciate a evening out for dinner with friends or a few hrs
Date: 5/25/2007 7:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 29532    I work 5 am to 3 pm. 10 hours is good. Still have lots of day left when i don't come home, eat and pass right out that is
Date: 5/25/2007 7:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 64365    You can have my job and I'll take yours. You won't have to be in until 9am, and you'll leave 3pm, and you'll have your weekends free...with this job, paying bills is optional
Date: 5/25/2007 7:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 19772    ha ha, Welcome to the real world...Where there is no such thing as a social life. Thats why people tell you to enjoy your teenage years because after that, you really don't have time to have fun. As a mother of two who works full time I know I'm thankfull when I get an hour to myself on the computer. To me thats a social life. ~Take care~
Date: 5/25/2007 7:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 11251    Social life??? what's that???
Date: 5/25/2007 8:17:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 22080    see a social life wouldnt be so bad if i could even enjoy an evening at home hanging out with my parents or something but theyre generally in bed when i get home or if i had someone to come home to. loneliness has been plaguing me for months now
Date: 5/25/2007 8:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 44960    No sense in worrying about your social life, put in for more overtime, you'll be much happier!! *Spirit*
Date: 5/25/2007 8:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 26303    Welcome to the real world. You will get used to it, and in time will be able to do other stuff. Do you work 7 days? That would be hard. Take care,
Date: 5/25/2007 10:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 51292    I feel your pain..I work second shift and I dont care for it too much.
Date: 5/25/2007 11:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 62881    Regardless of what job you do or the hours you have to work, it will take away from time you could be spending with family and friends. I see my co-workers more than I see my own family. That is just how it is. If you want to make a living or make money you have no choice but to sacrifice your time to do that. I hate it, too...but I do it every day...for 8 to 10 hours. 6 days a week...sometimes 7.
Date: 5/26/2007 4:30:00 AM  From Authorid: 53909    I work 12 hour shifts, Fri-Sun and every other Monday. But I'll have either 3 or 4 days off a week so I can still get my social life in there lol
Date: 5/26/2007 5:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 63449    When you're married, have a kid, and both work full time - the social life is like a fairy tale cause it ain't happenin'. *LOL*
Date: 5/26/2007 6:21:00 AM  From Authorid: 17275    What a wake up call eh? We both work full time and try and juggle 3 childrens schedules. With school (it's out now), girl scouts ect. it gets to be crazy! You will find a way to spend time with your friends.
Date: 5/26/2007 6:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 28848    A social life??....ahahahhaahaa. I work from 8am until 5pm M-F, and then I go to school from 6pm until 10pm M-Th. Just be glad that you only work nine hours a day. I generally have 18-20 hour days with very little or no sleep at all. At this point, I couldn't care less about a social life; all I want to do is sleep.
Date: 5/26/2007 6:54:00 AM  From Authorid: 43991    Before I found out about my surgery and that I cannot work right now, I was working 12-14 hour days 7 days a week. It was extremely stressful and I had absolutely no social life... It's hard at first, but hopefully you'll get used to it. I kept telling myself that I would get used to it and some day after work (around 8 or 9 PM) I would have the energy to go out and socialize... but it never happened, lol.
Date: 5/26/2007 7:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 56293    I don't sleep much. lol
Date: 5/26/2007 11:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 20977    What's a social life?? Really, if I'm in need of companionship, I'll go out for a drink after work with my co-workers
Date: 5/27/2007 6:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 19586    My hubby and i own a business and we subcontract for Lowes (about 22 stores) Life is crazy at this time of year, thus no social life...
Date: 5/27/2007 7:10:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 22080    im only 20, no way i can go out for a drink for another year. i just cant wait to get my teaching degree
Date: 7/12/2007 7:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 64439    I have no social life right now and having a mortgage makes it even worst. I work two jobs.
