I have 9 of the lil' horrors and yes, I believe that they are capable of love. One of our cats idolises Ad, it growls at me if I go near him...LOL! |

Yes, I thinks that means He loves Ad and Ad belongs to him. Think about it.... How could the cat not love Ad? You do! LOL That is when Ad's being a good boy LOL |

I think cats have emotions. They can also become very protective of their owner. I had a friend that started dating a guy, and his cat hated my friend. I mean the cat would do ugly stuff - like pee on Regina's coat- when she was around! So yes, they are capable of love & hate. *LOL* |

mine uses me. He's nice when he wants outside or needs to eat. If he had thumbs, I'm sure he would prefer to manage without us. But at the same time, I know he appreciates me more than anyone else here would admit to. |

I have three cats now but have had cats my entire life. Yes I think cats are capable of love. Like people, yes you have a few who are just using you, but in general I think they begin to love and accept you as part of their family. ~Take care~ |

I have had my cat for going on 14 years now, I have to say, I know she loves me. Like when I got divorced, when my ex came back to get a few things she "forgot" I wasn't letting her in without my Mom and my Step-Dad there, so she gets there, open the door and there is my cat, sitting on my little breakfast nook we had. Well my ex who had shared this house for 8 of 14 years with this cat, moved everytime we did, she went to pet her on her little head (her favorite spot btw). NOPE! wasn't gonna have anything to do with that, my cat turned and bit her HARD, hard enough to draw blood. She never done that before. |

I think both of my cats love my family and I dearly. My male cat is a mama's boy, he is attatched to me, and I remember the first time he met my husband, he avoided him like the plague because he was taking time away from me and my kitty, but my cat realized that this man wasn't going anywhere so he gave up his pride and learned to love my husband, it was so adorable, now he follows hubby all over the place. And my female cat is always there when you are down in the dumps, she jumps on my lap, and just sits there , purrs, and lets me know she is there, and a few pets can take away whatever ails me at the moment in time. I know they both love us, . !!! |

I fully believe that cats love their human companions. I used to have a huge Tabby named Igor. Igor had to be with me all the time, and would bring me gifts of live birds. I raised cockatiels at the time, and I guess he was just trying to add to my collection. He never hurt one of the birds that I could tell. I always calmed the bird down, and then let it go when it was over the inital shock of being captured by a cat, and the relief of not being eaten. |

We had a pet rabbit and our cat played with bunny all the time. They would actually chase each other all over the house. |

I absolutely agree that our Cats love us! As much as I tease about "Cat Behavor" (ie: they tolerate us), I know our cats love us very much. The night my poor Tyger was put-down, I know, I KNOW I felt him jump into bed with me & rub against my leg. He did that every night, and there is not a doubt in my mind that actually happened. Of all my cats, I miss my Siamese, May-Ling, the most I think...... |

oh yes of course he loves me.. When I am away for more then a day and I come home he will ignore me until I go to bed then he feels it is ok to forgive.. Bedtime is special for us.. He comes to bed with my and cuddles right up beside me. Or when he trusts me more then anybody else in the house to do his nails and give him his pill or liquid meds that he needs. Well he's my baby he eats his pills like it's a treat lol.. Sugar is my baby and is is Dot he gets quit jelous but he knows he is my baby boy but Dotty is also special, she loves to cuddle up.. She chosses though when she wants to be lovey. And then there is Momma who was a stray now she has a hme she lives in our Garage and now she doesn't stray further then two two backyards. She only goes next door or our yard. They are all special in their own way and they've all chosen us.. Sugar was found on the streets of our street.. I saw him one day and he never left our yard.. |

As a pet to 5 cats... (LOL) yes, I do believe my cats love me. The new kitten, she's only been with us for like 2 weeks, so she's not totally used to us yet, but she has stayed in my arms longer than she would before. 3 of the cats sleep with me, Tigger at my legs, fergie besides me and Socrates at my head. Weasel sleeps with the kids and Angel, on my vanity bench. I'm so looking forward to having them all sleep with me ^.^ |

What is love? I don't know. I don't know if cats perceive affection the same way we do, but I do know that they tend to bond pretty intensely with their owners. My cat, for instance, follows me from room to room and, when I sit down, gets into my lap and sprawls out and wraps her paws around one of my legs. And she wouldn't do this for anyone else. She is clearly attached to me. And what is love but a deep attachment to something? |
