Now I know what falling away
From friendship feels like
When there are words you remember
From past conversations, floating through your
Head, twisted shadows of memories
Ooze through the window cracks
And little things
The things you never noticed before about
That other person
Are a painful reminder that some people
Only change halfway, not enough to totally
Force you out of their life, but
Just enough to bleed
But not completely severe it
That wound has a question mark -
Will it be a healing answer in return
Or a slow and steady tearing
That hurts more than any guillotine
