My Guinea Pig Died....

Hey everyone,

I had three guinea pigs..a boy and a mother and daughter. The mother (Ethel) has been kind of sick since we got her. She went through periods where she wouldn't eat so we went to the vet and they gave us food we could mix w/ water and feed to her. They said nothing else was wrong and she always bounced back from this behavior w/in a day or two. This morning she passed away. My mom said she was breathing heavy and couldn't walk. I was upset but knew she was sick and we really didn't know how old she was. We buried her and I felt ok about it. I guess it just hit me now though because I feel terrible about her and not only that but I can't stop thinking how awful I'll feel when my other pets die. I don't want to say I love some more than others but I have my favorites. I forgot that when you buy an animal, you'll some day have to watch them leave. :0(

Date: 4/12/2007 11:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 31765    It's true that it's a sorrow we'll most likely face with each loved pet. The key is to enjoy the time you have, and not dwell on them passing. This is how I deal with my loved ones as well. We've had very ill parents who have passed. And I knew they were going to pass soon, but I refused to mourn for them until the time came. I'm sorry for the loss of your pet. Just give the remaining ones some extra attention and love now and let them comfort you

Date: 4/13/2007 12:44:00 AM  From Authorid: 37150    let Paddy Bear know the date of birth and date of death for your pet and you can have a little memorial to honor your guinea pig. I'm sorry for your loss
