It's within their Constitutional rights. Hopefully works out for them -- it's great that they are actually boycotting the idea only two guests are invited per person. They're encouraging participation at the potential expense of their ceremony. The school should be grateful. Heh. - |

A similar thing happened to me. Our graduation was supposed to be outside, and we had 6 tickets. About a week beforehand, the weather forecast looked bad, so they moved it into the gym and we were only allowed to invite 4. Luckily my brothers didn't want to come anyway, but it was a good thing I hadn't invited more relatives from out of town. |

Yeah, seems so unfair. Our local high school is the same, only 2 guests allowed. Which is fine if you are the only child of parents who are still together. Which is rare. I feel sorry for the parents who are not together, and have new partners, and for the siblings. The siblings probably go thru just as much as the graduating child, as they have to put up with the mood swings etc. Good on 'em I say. I hope they can sort something out. |

i think the school should have chosen a different time of year to install the astroturf. |

Yea thats stupid, why can't they just install it during the summer or something? Good for them for boycotting it! |

seems they could have scheduled that install for the following week... or anytime during the following 3 months. I don't blame them. |

They are definitely at liberty to do what they want. I think it is absurd to limit guests to only 2 per student. I understand there will be space requirement issues, but high school graduation is a big thing for a lot of people and most will have lots more than 2 people to share it with. The school should find a bigger venue rather than 'punishing' students... |

we could have as many as we wanted. Of course there were 7 of us graduating. |

I like to see the students standing up for what is right. There are other weeks the grass can be installed. I would be upset if my parents and Gary's couldn't see ours graduate. That's a lot of work and a lot of dreams on the students behalf the school is tissing away. |

Well we had our graduation at the coast colliseum. and it was pretty much PACKED and there weren't even 150 kids graduating. but it was fun. i remember when i walked out it got all quiet b/c i wasn't real popular then my sis and some of my friends got up and screamed GIT-R-DONE!!! hehe if they would have done something like only let 2 ppl come, no one but my parents would have cheered for me. |

Think of it like this, what would they have done if it rained? My high school graduation was originally supposed to be outside, but at the last minute it rained so they moved it inside. People were PACKED in, but i guess it couldn't be helped. I think that this school should have given more notice, or arranged to have it at a larger location if its that big a deal. |

Well I'd say their boycott is a great thing since it leaves more room for the ones who go. |

Only 2 guests per student? Thats outragous! That is just about your mom...and your dad..and thats it. Graduation is a thing to be proud of...its a ceremony to share with the whole family. Not just two people. |
