For Every Serious or Mild Problem/Habit That You Have......

(if this is in the wrong section, please move it (-: ) I think everyone will benefit from reading this post in one way or another.

I want you to think first of the 'annoying' or habitual things you do. Maybe you simply have something happen TO YOU, such as being ignored, failing every relationship you have had with a man/woman. Or a habit such as buying shoes when you feel 'empty'. Maybe you are a perfectionist or just explode when someone says something mildly mean to you, but you go 'full blown' on them....

Think about the things you do or happen to you daily. Maybe you need to go through tomorrow just 'observing' yourself. But after realize there is something to be learned! Something to overcome and realize what you need to get out of why 'this' keeps happening to you.

It's crazy, but for example, if you go shopping every time you feel incomplete - you don't know this yet...just take something you seem to do unconscious, you go shopping, buy something, regret it later, cycles with you again and again. You get nervous/anxious/antisocial so you retreat into a perfectionist/OCD mode....the truly life altering experience is when you stop from doing this unconscious act, and observe your thoughts, ask yourself why you do this EVERY SINGLE TIME _____ HAPPENS.... it can be the most revealing moments of your life.

You always have a 'bickering' conversation with your mother, she feels the same way about you...stop saying anything in the middle of the conversation, and maybe you realize..."I always have to be right, even though I hate these conversations with her...I always have to be right" - in this example you would change your approach and not care if u r right, and say the one thing that stops her in her tracks, you say something like "ok" or "we'll talk about this later" ....

The results of changing how you do any habit or problem in your life such as mentioned above, are VERY INTERESTING AND life changing....see for yourself.

There is something to be learned from every habit and problem in your life.

How it changed my life:

If this doesn't make sense, TRY IT OUT FIRST! :)

Date: 4/9/2007 3:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    I'm currently practicing exactly that with my mother. It's amazing what happens when I don't feed her ;o)
Date: 4/9/2007 3:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    that's the thing, typo... once you identify the problem (which is normally the person experiencing the problem) it disappears. It's not at all self-idolization. It's opening your eyes to your own contribution to your issue... and in my mind, that IS growing up.
Date: 4/9/2007 3:42:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 17290    what do you mean u don't feed her?
Date: 4/9/2007 3:44:00 PM  From Authorid: 63026    i have to agree with Mercury. You can't just grow up without realizing and fixing your bad habits. You must work on them and then you'll feel better and then as we mature we grow up.
Date: 4/9/2007 4:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 62998    Then I imagine I would have grown up in a totally different environment than most of you. My problem wasn't my Parents, it was me, when I realized that. I grew up, went out, got a job, and got on with my life.
Date: 4/9/2007 4:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    LOL I don't mean "withhold food". I just don't feed into the bickering and it magically stops
Date: 4/9/2007 4:10:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    and how old were you when you realized this? How many times did you repeat your "mistakes" before you got it? No need to answer ;o) Some people discover these things at a very young age, some people die at an old age, still not knowing it. What's wrong with giving people to tools to help towards self discovery? Not everyone is as wise and wonderful and you... except maybe the great and powerful OZ ;o)
Date: 4/9/2007 6:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 40350    This is interesting, I should give it a try. *huggles*
Date: 4/9/2007 6:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 27403    Self inventory always helps a person. Throw out what is not longer useful to you! And bring forwad what is useful! JUST DON"T LT THAT SPTLIGHT linger to long on self, or it can be very depressing. Love and Light
Date: 4/15/2007 1:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 19345    I've been working on my bad attitude, lately I've been awful, I admit it, but I've had so many lousy things happen to me over and over that I think its understandable.
