My brother-in-law and 2 twelve yr. old nephews save a Man & woman from a burning car!

Yesterday afternoon, as they were driving home, they came upon a wreck that had just occured.

From what I've been told it was a head on collision, and the man and woman were trapped in their vehicle as the man that hit them ran from the scene. My Brother-in-law and my 2 twelve year old nephews, sprung into action.

My brother-in-law pulled the man out pretty easily. And as he got the man out, the car started to smoke and ignited into flames. The man told Jeff, that his wife was still in the car, so he ran back over to the now flaming car and had to climb all the way into it. He pulled out the armrests and was able to get her legs unpenned. My nephews at that time were helping the man on the ground, making sure he stayed awake.

Jeff finally got the lady free, and was able to pull her out, with the help of my nephews pulling her to safety, just in the nick of time. Within a minute or so of them pulling her clear the car exploded.

The neighbors and other people that came upon the scene were trying to throw grass and dirt on the fire to help too. If you ask me anyone that helped this couple, are heroes. Especially, my relatives Jeff, Dustin, and Jordan. We are SO very proud of them.

I will have to look to see if it's in our local news yet, I know tomorrow they will be doing a follow up interview with my Sister Tammy, Jeff, and my nephews.

I am just so proud of them, our whole family is. Thank goodness there are people like them that will jump in there and help no matter the danger, to save other's lives.

Last we heard, the man had minor injuries, and the lady was flown to either Birmingham or Huntsville. I am anxious to hear of their status now, and I pray that they will both be ok. So, if any of you know this couple, please share our prayers with them for their speedy, yet efficient recovery.

:D Just had to share it with someone. :D (would have posted this earlier but this is the first chance I've had to get on the pc. :) )

*hugs*

Date: 3/25/2007 11:17:00 PM  ( Admin )   Great people do that, they risk their lives to save others. Love for one another is stronger than fear of losing our lives. Police, Firemen, Soldiers and even the ordinary person. If we would risk everything to save another person that we do not even know then how can things be in the shape they are? We need to get back to the basics of loving one another just because we do.
Date: 3/25/2007 11:18:00 PM  ( Admin )   Amanda they are heros and you should be proud.

Date: 3/25/2007 11:36:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    So true, George. I am so proud of them.. I'm trying to see if any of our local news stations have any links. I know they played a snippet about it on the 11 o'clock news, but they had the story a little wonky.. Still searching a link out though. I am definitely sure there will be one or several tomorrow! Everyone that went out of their way yesterday for this couple are heroes, even the people that were trying hard to exstinguish the fire with mud and grass. Jeff climbed into that burning car without a winks thought to it. I'm just glad that everyone is ok, and so very proud of my nephews. They used what little first aid knowledge they knew to help, and even helped pull the lady out of the way before the car blew up. Brings me chills. *hugs to you all*

A true hero is someone who would risk his life to help a stranger, just because it's in his heart to care for others. These guys showed such wonderful compassion! Thanks for this post!

Date: 3/26/2007 9:04:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28190    Thanks guys for the replies I plan on showing my nephews when they come over tomorrow Kelly, as of yet my local newspaper has not done a story on it, yet they find "driving on the sidewalks" as story to do.. *sigh*... My sister told me that WHNT (Channel 19) here in Alabama is going to interview them sometime later today, and that it should be on the news this evening. So, Hopefully they will also have a story link or a video-link, for me to share with all of you *hugs*
