here's the deal: you add vinegar to the cabbage; butter, salt & pepper to the potatoes. << authentic ;o) If you can't handle that, you grab a loaf of seedless rye and make a sammie out of the corned beef |

Well, you could put your own seasonings in the potatoes and cabbage. If your mom doesn't like to season her food, why don't you just season your own after it's on your plate. |

Here is how I do mine: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_1291,00.html?rsrc=search Its red cabbage and onions braised in balsamic vinegar, it didn't stink up the house or anything. |

Add parsley and butter to the potatoes while they are boiling in the water. I'm not sure what to use to flavor the cabbage, but I know butter is part of it... |

Saute cooked cabbage in melted butter over medium heat, add some chopped bacon. Are the potatoes with their skins on? If yes, cut a cross in each cooked potatoe, add some butter, little salt, top with sour cream. Melt some honey and drizzle over the carrots. Mmmmm, is dinner ready??????????? |
