What KIND of material is my ouija board made out of?

Ok please tell me what kind of material my ouija board is made out of? It works, everytime tho, its slow then gets faster over a few minutes... But its from 1972, a Parker Brothers board. The surface of the box is old, it says: Ouija Mystifying Oracle William Fuld Talking Board Set

But it looks like a type of cork like the cork clipboards are made out of, and the design is like a giant sticker for the letters numbers, etc. It is very thin too, like I could break it over my knee easy.

Heres a picture of it, the picture isnt mine but its exactly whats on the picture., except my box cover is in worse condition but ouija board is fine.

Also my mom said its the same kind she had when she was younger. But is this a good board that works better??? One of the better quality boards? (say than the Glow in the Dark version, Glowing one doesnt work for a lot of people.)

How it changed my life:

didnt

Date: 2/25/2007 5:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 23963    I have the same one and it is masonite...which is a type of wood. Yes it is the same wood used for a wooden clipboard. Hope that helps.
Date: 2/25/2007 5:41:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 19522    Something else caught my eye, in the picture i provided, at the bottom it says PARKER BROTHERS. On MY ouija board at the bottom, it says Parker Brothers Inc., Salem, Mass. U.S.A. (is that where the Salem witch trials were done or is that different than the name on my board?)
Date: 2/25/2007 5:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 63040    yeah my glow one dont work
Date: 2/25/2007 5:45:00 PM  From Authorid: 62998    Salem, Mass. is where the "witch trials" where held, however the "trials" were based on a young girls fantasy and none were proven. Most of the "Witches" were tortured into confessing
Date: 2/25/2007 5:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 19482    It looks like your question was answered, but I just wanted to say that my old Glow in the Dark Ouija board worked just fine
Date: 2/25/2007 5:53:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 19522    Yeah my main quaetion is answered BUT my other questions are NOT answered yet. "But is this a good board that works better??? One of the better quality boards? " ???
Date: 2/25/2007 6:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 16916    One can make a Ouija board out of almost anything. The quality of the actual board isn't what matters...
Date: 2/25/2007 6:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    My friend and I have different Ouija boards. She has the same exact one that you have pictured and also has the glow in the dark one. Whenever we use her boards, we mainly use the older version one. The glow in the dark one was a little harder to contacts spirits for some reason. We got her old board from Goodwill. And for another strange reason, we keep getting the same spirit on her board and one of my boards.
Date: 2/26/2007 3:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 10391    it isn't the board it is the user. one board isn't better, perhaps easier to read but not better.
Date: 2/26/2007 8:46:00 AM  From Authorid: 18155    In my collection of them, some rather quite old, wood seemed to be the material most frequently used.
Date: 1/11/2009 6:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 61811    I think the ability of the board depends on how much energy you put into it..and my glow in the dark one works fine. (when I bought it they didn't have a regular one)
