I have the same one and it is masonite...which is a type of wood. Yes it is the same wood used for a wooden clipboard. Hope that helps. |

Something else caught my eye, in the picture i provided, at the bottom it says PARKER BROTHERS. On MY ouija board at the bottom, it says Parker Brothers Inc., Salem, Mass. U.S.A. (is that where the Salem witch trials were done or is that different than the name on my board?) |

Salem, Mass. is where the "witch trials" where held, however the "trials" were based on a young girls fantasy and none were proven. Most of the "Witches" were tortured into confessing |

It looks like your question was answered, but I just wanted to say that my old Glow in the Dark Ouija board worked just fine |

One can make a Ouija board out of almost anything. The quality of the actual board isn't what matters... |

My friend and I have different Ouija boards. She has the same exact one that you have pictured and also has the glow in the dark one. Whenever we use her boards, we mainly use the older version one. The glow in the dark one was a little harder to contacts spirits for some reason. We got her old board from Goodwill. And for another strange reason, we keep getting the same spirit on her board and one of my boards. |

it isn't the board it is the user. one board isn't better, perhaps easier to read but not better. |

In my collection of them, some rather quite old, wood seemed to be the material most frequently used. |

I think the ability of the board depends on how much energy you put into it..and my glow in the dark one works fine. (when I bought it they didn't have a regular one) |
