Date: 2/9/2007 12:17:00 PM From Authorid: 2030 Check with your local humane society. I'm sure they could direct you to someone. Hope that helps. |
Date: 2/9/2007 12:25:00 PM From Authorid: 1799 I would check with the ASPCA/Humane society in the area. They tend to help out when money is a problem, though I can't say whether they'll be happy to return the dog (generally, if its just a really expensive surgery and they can still care for the dog, it should be fine). |
Date: 2/9/2007 1:53:00 PM From Authorid: 17014 I have to agree with BCAR and Emi. They (humane societies and the like) will find a way to help get this poor pup the surgery and care that he needs with donations made from area people and companies. Emergency vets are probably higher priced than just a regular vet, so I wouldn't go that route. |
Date: 2/9/2007 2:04:00 PM From Authorid: 10245 check with your local vet offices, too. Ours has a fund for people who take good car of their pets but run into financial difficulties. |
Date: 2/9/2007 3:33:00 PM From Authorid: 40145 well if money is an issue then give the dog to someone who can afford the dog.. no offense. |
Date: 2/9/2007 3:40:00 PM From Authorid: 36901 I hate to sound harsh, but I agree with Shortmuffin here. If you can't afford the care, maybe it's best you give the dog to someone who can. Also, look into pet health insurance. I have it on my doggie. |
Date: 2/9/2007 5:05:00 PM From Authorid: 62881 Wow....I don't see anywhere in this post where the author stated that the information requested was for her...??? |
Date: 2/9/2007 7:06:00 PM From Authorid: 16376 Emergency vets actually have higher rates usually because often you have to pay just for making an appointment. I agree with those who mentioned the Humane Societies, they often have surgeries cheaper than most clinics would charge for them. |
Date: 2/9/2007 10:35:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 6915 Please don't get into that conversation with me...I am the last person you need to advise. It isn't my dog and the dog is getting surgery..Im just searching for places that may offer more help than a regular vets office. |
Date: 2/10/2007 9:35:00 AM From Authorid: 61901 You need to do some phone work on this one. There are vet who are willing to work with you. Sometimes they will take payments. The local humane society can help you, be up front with them and tell them exactly how much money you can afford. |
Date: 2/10/2007 4:58:00 PM From Authorid: 40145 i knew that it was for your friend, but.. if she cant really afford, there are some vets that are willing to do payments, my veterian does, all she can tell her vet how much she think she can afford to pay every month, i am sure there is some place that is willing to work with her. good luck. |
