*~ Alabama Get Together- "Southern Reunion 2007"....KorngurlAmanda ~*

Hiya Everyone!

As most of you know, the Alabama Southern Reunion/get together is coming up this year and it is going to be held at Mcfarland park in Florence, Alabama! This beautiful park is right next to the Mighty Tennessee River, and we are so excited to have it in this awesome area.

For those that don't know, each year USM holds a yearly convention, the southern reunion offsets the Oregon reunion, making them bi-annual events. :D These are always so much fun, whether you go to one or the other, because you get to meet USMERs! Anyone that has been so fortunate to have been able to attend either of these events, will tell you that the comradery and friendships that are found online with Usm and Usmers is passed on in real life.

I went to the one in Gadsden, in '05 and can tell you that I have never in my life had so much fun hanging out with others as I did there. If you can come, Please do! We want to meet as many of you as possible! hehe

This year, Ms. Priss, myself and my mother, are organizing most of it, with the help of others as well, and so far our list consists of over 30 people, not including the hanful of mystery guests! :D

This year's reunion will be an awesome 3 day event, and those days are: June 8th, 9th and 10th! :D The pavilion is already reserved, so No backing out now.. lol! hehe

Okies, on to the specifics of this post :D hehe..

-Name tags-

Since I am making all the name tags for this year's event, I definitely need to know as soon as possible, if you are going. These are custom made art pieces, made by hand, from one frame of your tag. :D Also, if you have already let Ms. Priss, or I know that you are going to be there, I need your first name so that I can put it on your custom made tag. :D

I have made these at most the get togethers, and have very much enjoyed making them :D The above is just to make it easier for me..

Also, this year, I will make name tags of those that may not be members but are coming along with you. If you have non-members (or if some of you USM taggieless people) that are coming, please just private message me, or leave me in Author Only those people's first names, and if they would like something else on their tag. (such as a truck, or a star, or something like that graphic wise.) :D

I definitely don't want a single person feeling left out, and since these are all hand drawn the sooner I know about it, the better. Even if it's a maybe! hehe

We would like to have volunteers for the odds and ends. If a few people volunteer to bring a few things, this would be a lot easier on us. :D

A few things that we know we will need, that are small ticket items are:



* Paper/Plastic Plates -----(Irish Raven)

* Plastic silverware -----(Irish Raven)

* Side items (Chips, dips, cakes, snacks, etc;)-----(Twisted Sister: cookies/brownies/or rice crispy treats)

* Drinks



Ms. Priss has enough to make her famous bar-b-que, for Friday and Saturday, she just needs us to come up with some stuff to go with that mouth watering bbq! :D Anything that you can bring that you think would help, will be much appreciated! :D

Ms. Priss told me that George is going to be buying a charades/pictionary type of game so that we can play. But if you have any others that are collecting dust, or you think will be fun to play, you are welcome to bring those.

Besides that though,

*Chess,

*Checkers, and

*Cards are usually always at the get togethers! :D



We also are going to see if the park will allow us to have a karaoke machine, so that we can have our own little, entertainment. I'm sure the kids will love this! hehe

Also, we always have a game of White Elephant (the gift stealing game), so if you want to, you can bring a cheap giftie to add to the pile. Only stipulation here, is that is MUST be G-rated. hehe.. :D

If you can think of anything else to suggest as games go, please let us know. We want to make sure that it is FUN FUN FUN! hehe

-T-shirt contest Idea- ___________________________~*~___________________________

This year for t-shirts we are thinking about having a contest, what do you guys think about that?

If you want to have a contest, we will make a seperate special post, of artwork done by you, and have the members vote on which design they would like to have the most! :D

The design must be USM related. If we get a few of them, we are going to post them on photobucket with numbers, and have you guys vote on them. That sounds like fun, doesnt it?

Everyone will be allowed to enter, whether able to come to the get together or not! :D

The winner, we have decided will get a free t-shirt, and also I might throw in something special, especially if the designer cannot come to the get together. :D
