My opinion is that myspace was a great site, til the media got ahold of it. It's been running for a few years now and never had problems with it til this past year. The media totally made myspace look bad. It's a great site to talk to friends and meet people with the same interest. I found a guy 3 hours from me on myspace to help me record a demo of my songs. You just got to be careful too though. |

Social networking sites are great, but there are always those few who take advantage. I have friends who are on MySpace and they love it. |

Ive been on Myspace before it was popular....the problem is that you have some young girls who lie about their age...you had another girl who flew across the world to see some guy she was in "love" with...yet it has made instant celebrities |

It depends what people/the individual makes of it. |

They're good for keeping in touch with people as long as people don't get all crazy over it (i.e. the top friends thing, which is really dumb to be all mad about). |

I agree with Chi-Girl. I have a MySpace, and through it I've found several people that I didn't think I would or could ever find on my own. However, they are people I ALREADY knew. My sister, on the other hand, did something pretty stupid with MySpace that I'm not going to share right here and now, but let's just say that she was extremely lucky. SO, it definitely depends on the intentions of the user. |

I have both a Myspace and a Xanga account, on Myspace I have 9 friends, most of them are from here. Why do I only have 9? Because I am picky about who I add, I don't just pile up friends for the heck of it. My Xanga site is even more secure. I have 3 subs, only 1 is from here. |

I'm okay with them as long as I can keep my privacy. Like on my MySpace you can't see my page without being my friend, and you can't request to be my friend without knowing my last name or e-mail address. I like this because it keeps me from having strangers add me. I'm in love with facebook though.. It's how I communicate with tons of my friends and all of my sisters. |

I am on myspace and have a grandaughter and niece that I communicate with, but the last two times I was on I picked up a trojan virus. Lucky my macafee security caught them and deleted off my computor. So I am pretty cautious about that site now. It does seem like these sites get abused but thats peopole not the site. |

I added someone from myspace onto my MSN list and he really said some stuff that made me uncomfortabble, it really made me realise that you never know who your gonna find on those sites so just be carefull maybe the answer is networking in real life. |

i like my space, it is a good way to share my son's life with our family. i can stay in contact with my daughter;s sister, aunt and inlaws there. i've got alot of outside stuff blocked. i don't see why it should be limited. parents ought to be as aware as possible of what their children are up to and if peeps want to be immature about their top ten, it isn't the end of the world. there are much worse things going on. |
