it's not for sure yet, but i might be going to europe this summer on a trip with my school! :) we will go to paris, madrid, the alps, and rome. this will be my first real chance to go out of the country (other than canada) and over the atlantic ocean, not to mention see all the history we have been studying in school recently. haha.

BUT, it's 3,000 something dollars, plus spending money and passport. my friend and i are going to do fundraisers and things to get the money since our parents can't pay for it all, so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas that could help us. :)

we are going to do a carwash, and a garage sale. we are already going to stores to see if they can donate any money. we might do a costume party type thing during halloween, but other than we are stumped.

any ideas? thank you. :)

Date: 9/23/2006 12:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Little Jung. Hey there, you world traveller, you! Sounds like a trip, indeed. "Work hard" and remember that "nothing" comes easy. It'll probably take from now 'till next summer to raise the bread. Stick with it and I wish you the best. Write on...

Date: 9/23/2006 1:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 998    If you have things you might want to sell, you could try eBay, or maybe the USM Mall. Gosh, it seems like just the other day you were just a kid ... :-P~~~ LOL. Now your driving, and (possibly) traveling around the world. Gosh, if you are going to Europe .. can I hitch a ride *puts out thumb* ..

Date: 9/23/2006 1:58:00 AM  From Authorid: 53961    Make sure you have a fanny pack with all your valuables like passport, ID, and money in it. My best friend and family went and while touring the Vatacan, EVERYTHING - Luggage and all - was stolen from their van! The thiefs popped the window out. Thank goodness for homeowners insurance! They were the seventh party that day who this happened to. One daughter left her passport and money in the van while the others had their's with them. Sorry, not to put a damper on things, but just be aware.
Date: 9/23/2006 2:33:00 AM  From Authorid: 64118    LUCKY!!! As a History Major I would love to bring life to what I will be teaching in the future. My Fav History teacher, Mr.B, would travel to historic places and show us pictures and videos and once a Greek artifact. He was very careful with it..it was $$$$$. So, anyways back to you being LUCKY!!!! Also, I'd love to go to España to see where my grandfather was born and raised.. So much family history I don't know about. hmmm..anyways Good Luck, make Cheesecakes..Everyone loves Cheesecakes. From L.A.GalaxyUNITED
Date: 9/23/2006 3:52:00 AM  From Authorid: 39370    Wow, lucky you! I've always wanted to do some serious traveling like that! Good luck on raising the money, LG. If you get to go, you'll have to send me a postcard! hehe
Date: 9/23/2006 5:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    How about a bake sale at the school? They have those kinds of things here and they go over real well! The parents make homemade cookies, cakes, pies, pastries and other sweet treats and they donate them to the school for the children to sell. They would always use the school gym for this, as to keep out those pesky flies and stuff! Good luck and I hope you kids can raise enough for many of you to go! That would be a most excellent vacation / learning experience to see parts of history..
Date: 9/23/2006 5:40:00 AM  From Authorid: 13969    Try a bake sale.
Date: 9/23/2006 5:49:00 AM  From Authorid: 18516    Lucky!!! I'd love to travel to europe, can I hide in your luggage? I like the bake sale idea, ummm babysitting, Dogwalker/Dog washer, have a carwash at your school, get a part-time job, have a yard sale, you can sell candy at school (alot of kids did that when I was in school, buy a cheap bag of candy and raise the price of it, kids would buy that stuff up), make jewelry/keychains & sell'em. That's all I can come up with for now but if I think of anything else I'll come back. I hope you get to go & if you do be safe and take LOTS of pictures..and send me a postcard!!! LOL
Date: 9/23/2006 6:39:00 AM  From Authorid: 62849    Bake sale!! Or, since fall is coming, do you get a lot of leaves to rake up where you live? You could wander around neighborhoods and explain that you're raising money for a trip to Europe with your school, and you were wondering if you could rake the yard for a donation. If you do a good job, you might be able to get a good chunk after a couple of weekends of work.
Date: 9/23/2006 8:47:00 AM  From Authorid: 61966    Carwash is what popped into my head but you already said it. If I think of any ideas I'll come back to you! The trip sounds like it'll be tons of fun!! The high school I went to always held a trip like that every summer, it was always to different places around the world. But yes, it's expensive. Good luck raising the money Ashley, you can do it!! *hugs*
Date: 9/23/2006 9:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 17516    Lucky you. I would love to go back to Europe. Sorry, I don't have any good money making ventures, I'm usually better at spending it
Date: 9/23/2006 10:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 21266    Wow I do hope you get the chance to go europe is beautiful!! If you're good at crafts you can design funky keychains, mobile phone pouches, or brouches! people really love that {online/to your friends/and or even at your school perhaps}
Date: 9/23/2006 1:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    wow what an experince sounds like a ton of fun if you get to go!! i've been to rome it's great... though bring lots of spending money.. it's expensive over in Europe
Date: 9/23/2006 5:30:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 23101    All of those are good ideas! We are going to try and hold a pajama party for little kids and then do makeovers and crafts and stuff with a charge for admissions, but they are getting goodie bags and stuff too so it works. haha. We are going to do a garage sale soon. Unfortunately we cannot use the school or anything or use the name of our school because although its kids and teachers from the school going, it's a different company sponsoring it.
Date: 9/24/2006 4:07:00 AM  From Authorid: 58308    That is too cool!! My Gosh!! It didn't take long for you to be almost grown!! ^O-O^ Makes me feel REALLY old!! LOL! Congrats, hun!! *smiles*
