"Florence Rides Again", by Mustang-Renee

Humpty Dumpty was sitting on a wall,
His shell already cracked...

And then all that remained of balance, went a kilter,
To send him further than that

Down, down...The fallen,
Straining under the yoke of duress...

The best of intentions and skill,
Both proving powerless

The hue of courage, crimson
Yellowed with the smell of fear...

The taste of dirt, a familiar flavor
To the least of the soldiers here

But, the beating drum beckoned her onward,
And all of the fire within

Issued forth a torrential downpour,
A hurricane of water and wind

That sent all the horses,
And the men of self-renown

With their shining armors glistening,
A-tumbling to their crowns

Date: 9/9/2006 10:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 62927    Powerful Allegory. Many meanings, self, war, or politics. Nursery Rhymes help us more than we know.
Date: 9/11/2006 11:45:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 57116    I often write like that...juggling several thoughts/meanings/ideals within the same context. Sometimes it gets pretty frustrating, trying to keep all those spinning plates going. LOL!!!
