Dizziness

Now I'm the type of person who gets kind of motion sick. My head swirls around and stuff but I don't actually get sick. So today my family took a trip up to some theme park a couple hours away.

Counting both ways we were in the car for about 5 hours. Now i'm insanely dizzy. I can't focus, and I'm having problems sleeping since it feels like the world is just spinning around me.

So, I was wondering if there was any quick tips on how to get rid of dizziness or does it just go away on its own?

Date: 8/30/2006 10:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 61966    I heard, if your dizzy..you should sit up, and put your head between your legs for a minute or two..just make sure you come back up slowly. Other than that, I don't know of anything else besides just going to bed and close your eyes. Hope either one helps!

Date: 8/31/2006 12:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 998    An imbalance of your inner ear or sinus's can sometimes cause dizziness. If you have an antihisamine, you might try that. Also, I had a bout with dizziness for no apparent reason a year or so ago. The doctor said that many things in the ear and sinus's can cause things like this. They suggested that I turn my head and look to the right, then to the left about 10 times. Not super fast, but just left right left right and so on. That can loosen little crystals that sometimes get logged in the ear canal. Hope any of these things might help you. At least dramamine, antihisamines or tylenol aren't very potent methods to try, and who knows, maybe one of them might work.

Ok well for some people like my mother it makes her more hyper but for me I can take one and it knocks me out for 5 hours. Most people it doesn't. but it's awesome

Date: 8/31/2006 6:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 20921    Have you had any kind of head tramua recently? When i had a roll-over accident a while back, i felt dizzy and would fall a lot for like a month after. Something to do with your equilibrium, which is in your ear.
Date: 8/31/2006 7:34:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 62476    well I slept for about 9 hours and now I feel normal again. Must have been just motion sickness. Since last summer around this time I was going out to Indiana and we were in the car for about 9 hours. Then when we stopped I was up all night feeling like I was going to be sick. fun stuff..thanks guys
