I before E.....David/Fearfactor

Remember the rule stated as "I before E accept after C"? Well, you can change that to, 'I before E except after C and weird words.' ;)

It's little wonder why most of Americans can't spell these days. With so many different rules and variations. Then there are words that are phonetically silent. Take the word sfogiatelle, for instance. The letter f' happens to be silent in the word. Now try the word pnuemonia. There is no way one could spell it the first time they heard the worn enunciated because there is no stress placed on the letter p'.

Q words are perhaps my favorite (Quixotal) ;)
