What's with a wink ( interpreting Body Language) David/Fearfactor

At work, I've gotten three winks within a week's time. Theses winks didn't come after jokes, but happened randomly in the conversation alone. Well, one occured after I took care of the customer, but I see her alot. Scarey part was, two of these women were married (one of whom I like who I see regularly shopping, but physically can't like for that reason). The other came from an Anna Nicole Smith look-alike with her boyfriend in the of vicinity of her company.

So, what's with a wink, especially from females with counterparts? Do any of the ladies here use winking when flirting?

Why am I being winked at? I'm not Captain Winky, honest....

Has anyone else incurred unsolved Body Language Experiences???

David/Fearfactor

Date: 8/2/2006 8:31:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28071    yes, its an acknowlegement, before you innitiate something usually, or if you've come to agreement but not during the conversation.

He ended up getting his supervisor fired. It started when the big boss asked him where the guy was. George said he thought he was in his office working, and winked. Then it went down hill from there.
Date: 8/2/2006 8:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 63192    ok look, I've had a female doctor wink at me as a female during the coversation at an appointment. Sometimes people do those kinds of things to let you know hey, were on the same wave length, I understand you, or it's ok for you to feel comfortable around me. Other times it's firlting. You just have to go with ur gut based on what the coversation is and other body language involved.

Date: 8/2/2006 8:43:00 PM  From Authorid: 63302    sometimes...we do i t because we are on the same level etc but the reason i would do it is i liked you and thought you were nice and or sexy! i woul dhave to be attracted!
Date: 8/2/2006 8:48:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 28071    I agree Kam. Kam, do you think winking is more a female trait or unisex? David/
Date: 8/2/2006 9:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 63194    I dont know... I worked with a guy who used to get mad when guys winked at him.. he was kind of a homophobe. But honestly, the guys that winked at him winked at me as well and it never really phased me, mostly because they were doing it in the acknowledgement way... and some of them I think did it compuslivly or something... I just never believed that people flirted like that.. cus I sure dont. I think I am pretty void of the ability to flirt, because I am a person who (and yes, its a flaw of mine) who gets very very irritated with people - and flirting (especially flirting that makes all intelligence seem to disapear) turns me off.
Date: 8/2/2006 10:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    nudge, nudge, wink, wink.....stay well clear of those females LOL!!!
Date: 8/2/2006 11:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 58416    Well i wink when I'm flirting but I also wink instead of saying "ya know what I mean". Kinda just give off a little wink lol did that make sense? lol
Date: 8/2/2006 11:53:00 PM  From Authorid: 58416    So Ben are you like a straight forward kind of person then? I mean instead of flirting you just tell them when your interested? Do you get what I'm saying? *wink* *wink* lol
Date: 8/3/2006 7:26:00 AM  From Authorid: 55967    I've had times when the wink from someone seemed to me to be from hautiness, from arrogance, and they were patronizing me, saying like, "Hey, partner, don't tell anyone, but we're together on this; we'll get'er done," like you would say to a "dumb" or very young person.
Date: 8/3/2006 8:32:00 AM  From Authorid: 63194    What Gyps said. Yes ChickyWoo, I dont like beating around the bush, its a waste of time.
Date: 8/3/2006 8:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 11240    My dad always used to wink at me when he was talking to someone else and his conversation was a little intellectually over the other person's head, sort of like a "I know you get what I mean, Deb, but don't start laughing!" I don't recall ever using winking as a flirting device when I was single -- I was a little more forward than that. But, when I first saw my husband, we both winked at each other. So, my winks at him say something to the effect of "Hey, daddy . . ." As for winking at others, I do it all the time here at USM. I chose my winking eye tag as a way of making a bit of fun of the "all seeing eye" in saying to you all, and Our Father, "Lighten up. Life doesn't have to be so serious. And if you are taking my comments earnestly, then understand the intent they are offered up for: To tease your mind a little." God Bless.
Date: 9/30/2006 8:27:00 AM  From Authorid: 56489    ROFLMBO! I wink at people for alot of different reasons but,Pink had them all covered until she started her second to last sentence.
