Going Bananas
Where have you been all my life? I lay here, bruising, rotting Earning my living laying on my side. I am dead, horizontal disdain ‘till I die, Just to be picked by another.
My fruits are too young to be wanting, Hopeful; but yet, the course and the crude, Not like you, lay me down to bruise and rot Just to be picked by another, However, this time its you!
Uplifting, unbelievable you, You lift me up. You suspend time, allowing me to mature, Change and age. Vertical Rejoicing, ‘Till I am tickled yellow and I ripen.
Where have you been all my life? I am deliciously ready. I wait on deserving you. I thank you for suspending me, And my moments, on you plastic banana tree.
