Jesus Made a C in Life
Ever get that feeling, lost, lonely, left- behind When I do, I crawl up to my couch Lacking with fight in confidence Slide down in its red velvet the one- way Else resistance if stroked the other way. I reach down to scrunch, the shag beneath its legs And with my ironic bite I muse That even Jesus made a C in Life
Jesus was a Carpenter, a builder, a toiler to the end He built the way for humanity to begin, For his father God above, was the first Supreme- To associate himself with Love Jesus was a Caregiver, a healer, a restorer back to health He cured the lame, and those who could not walk the path He healed the blind, and those who could not see He raised the dead, and those who had no light
Jesus was a Counselor, a rabbi, a wise man He zapped the sleeping fig tree, bringing truths to you and me We must Come Forth: Bear Fruit: make time for humanity Foul example, for foul times. Jesus was a Companion, a deliverer, a friend He called us from the streets: He called us from the seas He called us from the graves: He called us from the trees. He called us all to him, to become fishers of men.
Cherish is the word I use to describe This man who made a C in Life This Carpenter, Caregiver, Counselor, Companion For who can escape the dye they use to make cloth, But that you become as same is sure, Makes this Jesus dying in Love as sincere secure I crawl off my red velvet couch determined, Confident, I too will attempt a C in life.
