Date: 6/26/2006 12:02:00 PM From Authorid: 34078 Before, I used to think it was silly when people got scared during an OBE. But now after I've had some psychic experiences I can see how fear plays a part. I think the reason I've never been too scared during an OBE is that I felt I had nothing to lose. Although there have been times during OBEs that fear did certainly cross my mind and wondered the very same things about them that you do. I was however informed by a dear friend about the silver cord that connects our physical body with our astral body. In that way you can never get lost. Later on in my experiences I was able to discard the cord as one would do as with training wheels on a bicycle. When you said "I "awoke". (For lack of a better word)": I always thought of it as awaking from self-hypnosis. Of course other ways of saying it could be 'when I broke the spell' or 'leaving mediation'. I try and work with words, terms and phrases used in our current culture. Meditation seems to be Eastern Indian mysticism philosophy related. And spell is often times referred to as in casting a spell on others. So to avoid confusion I opt for the term self-hypnosis. It's the first term that came to mind and I try to stick with that. Although second thoughts can be correct but not as often. You say, "Unfortunately, since I was still conscious" but I believe we are always conscious during our astral travels. You can see I use the term astral travel. It seems to me to be related to Eastern Indian mysticism and OBE may be a more correct way of putting it. But I'm stuck in my ways. Those are just some of my thoughts. Hope that helped. |
