The stupidest fad ever - Shorty8

I'd say about 70-80% of my school listens to rap. That's no big deal as it's their choice. Just like how I listen to metal, it's my choice.

Anyways, these gangster people I guess are all about money so there's these stupid shirts that they wear that take common characters and say something about hustling( I guess that's stealing money or something wierd). Yesterday, I saw a shirt with the M'M's people on it( the red and yellow ones) and said something about money.

Another shirt had Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street and again said something about hustling.

A final shirt I saw is a bunch of fake money taped on it or put on the design and again it's about money.

I have nothing against these people it's just the shirts about money with cartoon characters are so stupid in my eyes. 100 dollar bills isn't what life is all about and these shirts make it seem that way.

Date: 4/19/2006 7:36:00 PM  From Authorid: 27705    I agree but the world seems to think that money is the most important thing... shirts these days are all about the cash... they cost enough never mind what they mean... you dont need money to live your life or be "cool" peace and love Regina
Date: 4/19/2006 7:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 20750    Well its a trend! I soon hope goes away. Money is not the cure all for everything nor for being a bad person.
Date: 4/19/2006 7:52:00 PM  From Authorid: 62146    I really do get anoyed with this ganster hip hop, rap, Yo bust a capp in your butt kinda culture. I just find it anoying, cause it goes and on and on about stupid stuff like getting ricth yourself, but it's ok to diss someone else for being ritch, Yet 50 cent is like "yo get ritch or die trying" And it tends to promote the idea of street justice being the right thing, and that it's ok to break the law, cause cops are stupid or whatever =/. I dunno I just never got it I use to go to school with these rapper/gansta wannabes and they constantly dissed me from not being in the getto (I came from a middle classes a suberb) and listening to pink floyd instead of 50 cent. You ahve a point that they constantly rap about money and I mean CONSTANTLY, I have money probblems yes haveing a lack of cash dose make life harder but trust me life ant all about money.
Date: 4/19/2006 8:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 20977    I hate those shirts!! I work in a gift shop, and there's a lot of tourists, and that seems to be the trend right now!! UACK!
Date: 4/19/2006 8:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    yeah, trends come and go...thankfully..lol!
Date: 4/19/2006 8:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 63118    i dont like the trend neither =/
Date: 4/19/2006 10:47:00 PM  From Authorid: 53909    I never understood the trend where you roll up one pant leg and leave the other one down. I always thought that looked retarded.
Date: 4/20/2006 1:25:00 AM  From Authorid: 45630    What is not a trend. My boardies and my blue shearers singlet!
Date: 4/20/2006 6:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 62798    Unfrotunately, money is not just popular with them. Our society has gotten extremely materialistic.
Date: 4/20/2006 7:53:00 AM  From Authorid: 63449    I have to agree with ya. This is rather strange. I guess that's why they are called fads - other people realize it's just not how they really want to dress. (Not to mention, people grow up and want to look better and taken more seriously.)~CarolinaBlueGirl~
Date: 4/20/2006 1:17:00 PM  From Authorid: 63209    Lol.. that's so dumb! I mean really.. I don't like rap personally, but whatever. lol

Date: 4/20/2006 8:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 62679    HAHA this made me laugh..I'm just picturing Bert and Ernie on the front of a shirt with the saying "It's hard out there for a pimp"
Date: 5/15/2006 4:48:00 PM  From Authorid: 63155    The stupidest fad right now are Converses. Um hello? You don't look retro, you look like a clone.
Date: 6/6/2006 8:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 63644    I agree with you... LOL you reminded me of this one subsitute I once had... she was completely against rap. One kid was listening to it, and she's like, "Oh that stuff sends bad messages. I know, I was in this anti-rap club thingy or whatever. People only laughed at her afterward. :\
