Loss Is Just A Metaphor

None of this will ever change your mind..
I'm tossing and turning, thinking, trying to find the reason why you walked away
Leaving me here, alone in my displeasure.
I guess I thought things were different this time around.
I guess that's what I get for being optimistic.

Apparently, or so it seems, my apologies have fallen on deaf ears.
A cheek has been turned to my pleading
I know you're hurt, don't say the words, save your strength. It's going to be a long night waiting for the cure.

This isn't just a game we play,
I can't seem to lose your taste from my lips.
I see why it's hard to see through the window,
Was it wise to have thrown the rock?
How long can you go? How far will you strive?
I'll keep going until this day seeks its tragic end.

Apparently, or so it seems, my apologies have fallen on deaf ears.
A cheek has been turned to my pleading
You know I'm hurt, I've fallen too far.
Now, I can't get up without your helping hand.
