This is directed at the serious advice post on cutting:
Firstly I am sorry that you had to go through that...I know how badly you feel when you have to hide a scar from someone who you love, but the most important thing, to stop you from doing that ever again, is to talk about it...
There are a number of ways which you can do this....the best way is to find what is right for you. But you do have to talk about it, and hopefully then you will feel better about yourself.
Try and find a place where you can talk with your best friend alone...and give them time to react, they might not say anything, or they might have a million questions...be prepared for anything. If you have stopped cutting, and you only did it once because you 'thought' that it would help, because it helped your friends, then say that....Say what is in your heart...(Find a place where both you and your friend feel comfortable...If it is walking in the park, or sitting in your room, whereever, do it somewhere where you feel safe, and can be honest with both you and your friend.)
Once you start talking, it will become a lot easier.
Also on another note, if the scar is bad, then there are also some treatments which you would be able to try, which could help in the appearance of the scar...some of these include different types of creams, and silicone sheets are also a good investment for some scars.
i hope that if you do ever need help that you seek the help which you deserve. Remember there are other ways than cutting.
I hope this helped....Good luck with telling your friend.
